Want to increase your odds of having your letter be opened? Address it by hand. If you want undeniable certainty that it will be opened first, address it in calligraphy. Hand calligraphy, that is.

There was a day when designers, artists and other creatives were limited to the Zazzle and CafePress marketplaces to offer their creations on demand. But today, previously unattainable production processes have now become available for many types of designs. Technology is to…

How befitting that, today, Valentine’s Day, I would choose to tell you about a wonderful and playful illustrator by the name of Valentina
. I thought I’d pay her homage on this day meant for lovers as I have a mad crush on her work, which is, in fact, a tribute to a true love for life.
You want to pay attention here, because I’m quite sure that we will be seeing… Continue

When I was little, I thought that I wanted to grow up to be a doctor. I went on to university thinking just that. But, like many things in life, things change. For me they did, big time. I got married, and had a baby...and then three more. I kept up with school for the first few years of marriage and parenthood, but after six years and four kids later my entire pursuit in life changed. The whole idea that being successful…

Personalized gifts are always popular. But dna11.com takes it to the next level as they use a person’s DNA, finger prints and kiss prints to create VERY unique artwork.
Just as we loved the DNA portraits we mentioned in our…

As crazy as the holidays get, one thing I really enjoy doing over the winter break is collaborating with Munch to make art for the family. This year I was inspired by the "subway art" I've seen in many DIY blogs.
I began with this- one of several paintings Munch did a couple of summers ago when she was just beginning to explore with paint. I never cared for the muddiness that came from the brown and was just waiting to paint over it.… Continue

I like providing a variety of art activities for my little girl. I believe that like literacy, creativity needs to be fostered. In particular, open-ended art projects are especially important in our house. Painting, drawing, sculpting....

Tired of having glitter, pom poms, and wrinkled up paintings scattered everywhere?! At the risk of sounding a little less than sentimental, I can barely keep up with the massive influx of KidArt from preschool, which sent me searching for storage solutions. I found one that was basic, but brilliant. Oh, and cheap - a total bonus. :)

My books for this semester have arrived and I have to say, I am slightly overwhelmed. I am taking 5 classes this semester and these books cover 3 of them! My other 2 classes are art classes and I don't believe they have books (thank God for small favors) but I do know that they will require a LOT of time and effort on my part. Luckily, I love art and those classes, although time consuming and sometimes stressful, are really… Continue

This craft is so simple that even someone with no crafting skills [like me] can do it! It’s also perfect for little ones who can wield scissors. As you can tell from the photo, my scissor skills aren’t the greatest, [I can't cut a straight line to save my life] but Ava doesn’t care. She loves taking the pieces off and rearranging them. I also use it to tell her stories. Originally, I glued the widows and door onto the house, but she just pulled them off [she's 14 months] so I… Continue

Ok, so here’s the deal. I’m not exactly as vigilant as I should be about what my kids watch. I tend to watch something, get seriously into it, and then when it’s too late, notice my kids are with me watching it, and it is TOTALLY inappropriate. Bad news. Well, this bad habit has come back to bite me in the ass in a somewhat disturbing, yet totally hilarious way. %
Here is a pic of my son’s latest homework assignment, front and back.…
