5 Reasons Why I Can’t Wait For It To Be Fall – A Season of Change

Are you tired of the summer heat?  I know that I am, in fact, I am looking forward to the cooler weather.  Summer officially ends on September 21, 2013 and fall begins on September 22,2013.  Fall is just a few days away and summer will be officially over in a few days!  Most of the kids are back in school and they are busy…

When Sandy gives you rain...

Hurricane Sandy left us cold and wet on Halloween. Normally we would hold Trunk or Treat in our church parking lot but the storm made us make some changes to our tradition.  Because we have a large lobby and gym, our leader - Fred - decided we would be holding what…

Easy Fall Decoration Tips

Although I am definitely a gal who enjoys summer fun, I am welcoming fall with open arms. I absolutely love the coziness that the fall season invokes. It makes me want to curl up near a fire with a warm blanket, a good book, and hot cup of cider. There is nothing like feeling a crisp autumn breeze on your face, or jumping into a pile of leaves with your kids. I usually wait until September to begin my fall decorating but, each year I find myself wanting to do it earlier. You can bring the… Continue

Back to School and Back to Blogging!

What a crazy, CRAZY month September has been! Almost 3 weeks ago, my daughter finally started Kindergarten and, can I just say, that I don't think I have ever been this busy, nor have I ever second guessed myself more in my life than I have now?

It all started with some busing issues (courtesy busing cut due to state budget cuts. Had to pay a $398 fee!), and then between fundraisers (more payouts. Eek!), and helping Raelyn adjust to going to school 5 days a week (never mind the BOTH… Continue

Apparently, August hasn't exactly been my month either.

So much for that serene feeling I always get in August! Although my back finally healed up, I'm now in the midst of a nasty head cold. Yuck! I've heard that quite a few people are having this right now so, if you're one of them, I feel your pain! This August cold, rainy weather is certainly not doing me any favors.…

The Boys of Fall

So as we approach the fall season (even though its the middle of August), my husband longs for that crisp fresh air.....longs for football season. Longs for the big game....cheering on his team....going over stats....setting up his teams....longs for the smack talk....longs for those touch downs and end zone celebrations....while he remembers his youth in Pop Warner… Continue

Goodbye July!

Today is officially the last day of July. I can't believe this summer has been flying by so fast. It feels like yesterday I was getting out the summer clothes and planning Raelyn's birthday festivities. It feels like time is just passing me by! And has anyone else noticed that it seems like it's already starting to get dark out sooner? Apparently, a cold front is coming through as well so this last day of July is feeling more like mid-September. I'm not ready yet! …

Autumn Calls Us To Change

Hi dear Moms,

In my younger days I thought I could control change. I learned, and not quickly I would add, that no one can control or stop change anymore than one can hold back the tides or halt the autumn leaves transforming from green to gold. This brings me to today's topic of change and how to understand it and accept its daily invitation.

First, change is inevitable. Think of those individuals you know who, despite painful adversity, have been able to go on even after… Continue
