The Last Firsts...

I nursed both of my boys for a year each. Now I have weaned my sweet Baby B and its a little bittersweet.

At around 10 months of age, I decided to slowly over the two month span work toward using a bottle regularly. I thought it was because of B's extreme love of nursing and cuddling, that was the reason I couldn't sleep at night anymore. Some people sleep really well with their little ones and co-sleeping is a magical bonding time. For me it meant lying awake the whole night counting…

This Week In Pictures!

Welcome to another "This Week in Pictures", I realized that when I post these I should probably explain a few of them, so here goes...

The week Started out last weekend with J Myster getting another hair cut. We have to tame that mane of his. It gets scraggely sometimes.

But the exciting part of the week was my maternity and Baby B's photography pictures came in and even though these pictures were taken weeks and months ago, I just had to…

This Week In Pictures!

I absolutely love icloud! Didn't know I'd use it until I made my little photo collage earlier today with some pics I've taken through out the week and my ipad has a cool app that collages your recent photos. Well I saved the collage I made from pics I've done thru the week and they synced to my photo stream on my laptop and made doing this post soo much easier! So if you have pics to share from the week add them here. This is my week in pics...…

When New Underwear & Starbucks are the Highlight of Your Day!

I'm no stranger to taking care of two or three kids at a time. In fact I've been doing it for almost three years. When I was running a home day care it was easy once all the kids got our day's routine down. But its entirely different with your own children. Other people's kids listen and act better than your own much of the time, but when you throw a colicky newborn and a rambunctious toddler in with errands to run, it spells disaster.…

Grateful I'm Not Pregnant Anymore!

When it comes to being pregnant, there are women that love it, women who hate it, and women who feel something in between on the subject. It probably has a lot to do with how pregnancy has treated you and whether you have been pregnant multiple times or not.

If you never had morning sickness, indigestion and you had a pregnancy glow, rather than pregnancy acne, you may love being pregnant and all the attention you get with it.

If however…

Breast Feeding: Not As Easy As Just Whipping Out A Boob

While I haven't ever considered myself a know it all when it comes to breastfeeding, I am by no means a newbie on the subject. I breastfed my oldest son for a year, but he had bad acid reflux, I mean bad acid reflux that didn't go away until he was nine months old. Now with my second son I have been determined to make breastfeeding a pleasant experience for both of us and to do whatever I can to minimize his reflux as much as possible. Thankfully he is on a…

Vaginal Birth vs. C-section

Having a baby can be one of the most amazing feelings ever. It can be scary and intense but with the right support group it can be an amazing experience.

However sometimes things don't go the way you'd like them to go. Complications can happen to both mother and baby and the stress of it all can take away a lot of that joy that you should have as a new parent. …

Toddler Boys and Pregnant Bellies Don't Mix!

I love my son dearly. But sometimes I have to really really hold my breathe because he really really tries my patience. We all know toddler boys love to wrestle and be physically active. I get that and if this mom could do it at 5 months pregnant, I would, but now I have to teach my toddler son to be gentle around the baby bump. He's not really comprehending yet that there is a baby in there. Hunky Hubs and I talk about it and we've shown him pictures of mommy when she was pregnant with him and… Continue

15 Weeks!

Hey All!

I am feeling a lot better. Hypermesis is gone! YAY!!!! Ptyalism, still here, booo! I am currently 15 weeks pregnant and while I kept a better pregnancy blog with my son, I just haven't been on the computer much since I've been pregnant this time. I've been taking every moment I can to rest and relax since I work with kiddos all day long lifting them to change them or carry them and its starting to take a little toll on my body. …

Developing Early Childhood Communication Skills

I have taught sign language to my son since he was six months old and I have to say it is a great tool in communication. My son started signing back at 8 months of age and his first sign was "milk". He would successfully sign this back to me when he was hungry and it was great in curbing any kind of frustration with not know why he was crying, that and routine schedules I believe have helped greatly. I won't sit here and say that my son doesn't throw some pretty good tantrums, he's 18 months… Continue

The Night I Nearly Cracked My Head Open

We've all been there as new time moms. Your child cries in the middle of the night and you run down the hall to see if they are ok. You comfort, rock and sooth them and hope you can lay them back in their crib and they will fall back asleep as you tip toe out of the room and quietly crawl back in bed. When you are nursing, you do this several times a night. (Read More)

Monday's Moment

Jaydon lately has been struggling during changing time. As soon as I lay him down and he sees the fresh diaper, he is squirming to get away. He screams, he struggles, he cries and many times he succeeds in running off naked.

This morning he is heading for the stairs to make his break and run away but stops to take a pee first. I run over yelling "NOooooo". He stops… Continue
