A Whole Lotta Gardening

Life has been full lately.

A beautiful, tasty, diverse kind of full.

But, so full that some afternoons all I want to do is nap. Curl up on top of my clean bed, babe in arms, and drift off. Not for a long while, just a half hour.

Alas, Reality Check:

Babe is hardly a babe anymore. He's 1 already. Wah!

Babe only takes one short nap a day. One very short nap.

And, twenty minute nap usually occurs before the afternoon lethargy hits.…

Bedtime Reading

One of the benefits of sign language is that it can increase your little one's interest in books. It adds another visual as well as guides your child through the story. Below are some suggestions about reading to your child:

  1. Place the book on a cook book stand to free your hands to sign.
  2. Place the book…

Crucial Baby Products for those Early Months

Crucial Baby Products for those Early Months

I find that after having my second son there are some items that were even more important to have around this time than the first.  We were lucky enough to not have to buy much since our second was a boy as well.  We had all the clothes covered, all the gender neutral gear in case we had a girl, tons of bottles which we didn't end up needing this time around… Continue

Why Organic Clothes?

Why Organic Clothes?
You may be thinking, the baby wont eat the clothes so why pay more for organic? I know the trials of choosing which items to pay more for when you are shopping for baby. Organic clothes are not only… Continue

Baby Weight

All of a sudden, I very much feel pregnant...and, judging by this picture, I very much look it, too! We are having a little girl this time. I have heard that this is such a blessing, because we get to experience each...a boy and a girl...because they are so different.

I can feel the difference settling in already. As the physical weight of… Continue

The Big Weanie

I gave myself a deadline, if you will, for weaning Aidan from breastfeeding.  I did this because I am a planner and I like to do things in a well thought out and calculated manner.  Giving myself the deadline of Memorial Day Weekend planted a seed in my mind that said in March and April I needed to pump pump pump and freeze as much breast milk as possible so that he could still have breast milk, just not from the “tap.”  Then, in May, I’d start replacing one breastfeeding with a bottle in a…
