Goatdog and the Pizza Man Incident

photo-61

Most of you know by now that our Goatdog is one crazy son of a bitch (literally -- cause, you know, he's a DOG).  He's body-slammed himself through a glass door, eaten my kitchen chairs, and taken a giant dump right in the middle of a dinner party.  And he absolutely loses his mind if a strange man is on our…

Rock, Paper, Scissor Parenting

Rock

Ok, yeah, I'll admit that my husband and I may have rock, paper, scissored our way through some of more undesirable aspects of parenting our twins.  (I'm pretty sure we're not the only ones who do this either.)  Because, sometimes, it just doesn't really make sense for BOTH of us to jump into a crappy situation.  For…

Things I've Learned This Week

1379357_10151783213271704_2045627523_n

** Complete strangers REALLY like to tell me the whole story of their lives, regardless of how horrifically TMI it might be.

** The "Mind Blowing Science Kit" is clearly an outside toy.…

Things I've Learned This Week

** When people say, "Good morning!", I'm not quite sure how they assume that it's good.

** The government REALLY needs to get over its giant temper tantrum.…

Choices Moms Make

When I was a little girl, the majority of my friends did not come home to an empty house like I did.  They knew that their moms were waiting for them with a hug, a smile and some cookies and milk.  Their moms were there to make sure they changed out of their “school clothes” so that they could go outside and play.  And once their dads came home from work, they knew it was time to “wash up for supper” and join the family at the dining room table.  I’ll admit it; as a little girl, I…

The Night I (Almost) Broke Up With Prince

For as long as I can possibly remember, I have absolutely LOVED Prince.  Even way, way back in elementary school, my best friend and I would hole up in her room and blast songs that we knew were completely inappropriate for our innocent, young eardrums.  I begged and I pleaded with my mom to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me see him in concert but was told…

Things I've Learned This Week

** Recovery time from the weekend is much much longer than it used to be.

** I should just hand out money to trick-or-treaters as much as candy costs these days.

** School pick up in the rain is about as much fun as filing your nails with a chain saw.

** It's impossible to get the smell of dead snail off your hands.  Don't ask…

Babysitter Woes Continued

I am starting to get a complex.

I think that there must be some sort of write up about me on some sort of babysitter/nanny forum that tells them not to contact me or take care of my children.

What is the deal!!!

I wrote last time about how my husband I haven't been on a date in over two years.  Well it is over two years and still counting.... (Read Here)

I have laundry…

The Guilt Of Going Out When You're A Mom

I think every parent deserves a break. I think couples still need to make sure they get their one on one time. Tomorrow is my birthday celebration and my cousin, Kathleen will babysit Landon. He's her God son and she really enjoys her time with him. My mother in law will be taking Hannah for the night. She likes to refer to their time together as "girl's night in." We're so lucky to have such helpful people.

But I feel guilty. Every time we go out! Which is rare!

How to look for a reliable or trusty babysitter

I was having a hard time concentrating on my work because my son has become extremely active and only sleeps 1 hour during naptime. I was thinking of getting a babysitter and my friend suggested that I should try Sitter City because that's where she found her son's babysitter and she's been raving about her. So I signed-up and found someone based on her ratings and I've been using her since. My son totally loves her.… Continue

My Babysitter is quitting in September!!!

I have a wonderful older woman who takes care of Sophia when I am @ work and neither my mother or my husband can do it. She give me peace of mind. I can go off to work and do not even have to worry about calling because I know she is well taken care of. In the mornings Sophia just waves goodbye @ the door like I am just going to take the trash out!

WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS ATTACHMENT THING I READ SO MUCH ABOUT???

Last week, Tia Maria (Aunt Maria), as we call her, gives me the… Continue
