Review: MD Sports Wireless Basketball Hoops and Scoreboard

Ok, so for Christmas my 6 year old decided what he really wanted was for his bedroom to look more mature. His words, "my room is too babyish". As mentioned in a previous post, he gave his little brother a bunch of toys he felt he grew out of and since he is 6, we both agreed the Shamrock Green Crayola color was a bit outdated. So we went for a more Olive/Asparagus mix!

One of the gifts he received was a really cool item I found online. I was sick and tired of replacing those…

Since the start of the season, I think she had played each team at least four times, so she kind of knew what she was up against.

My March Madness

We’re in the middle of March Madness in our house – in every sense of the word.

My husband is obsessed with all things ESPN – especially football and March Madness. My employer holds a bracket contest every year – we can enter in 2 brackets at $10 each, first place gets 75%, second place gets the other 25%. Guess who one last year?

This is Lovely, But...

I have people send me this link regularly:

I’m always so chuffed when people take the time to forward something that might be of interest to me. Have a look – this clip is a beauty. A lovely teenager with autism gets his chance on the basketball court and absolutely shines – elevated to hero status by his supportive peers cheering him on. It is truly moving.

It also annoys the crap out of me.

When I see this clip, it makes me want to… Continue

Do You Love Basketball? Want to Spend the Day WIth Your Daughter?

Love Basketball? Wanna Take Center Stage in MSG at Half-Time?

When I was growing up in Westchester, NY in the 60's, my brother was regularly asked by my dad to go see the all-star, championship NBA team, the "New York Knickerbockers" (aka Knicks) play. Yes, those were the days of Walt Frazier, Dave DeBusschere, Earl the Pearl, Willis Reed, Senator Bill Bradley and other "dream-team" players of all time. When my dad would ask my brother, never considering that I would find basketball… Continue

In a Land of Giants

I was invited to a basketball game and the players were all above 1.9 metres tall! Even the coach and owner of the basketball team tower over me !

I was given corporate box seats where yummy snacks, beer and wines were served. What a wonderful experience!

It was an explosive game and there was an ugly moment when fans started throwing… Continue

Introduction

Gee, thanks to everyone who has so warmly welcomed me to the blogging world! You are all very gracious and I am excited about sharing on here.

I'll start off with a little about myself and my daughter.

I am a single mother (though I am in a serious relationship with a guy who has a son). I work as a teacher at a middle school here in Ohio. I love Ohio (HUGE BUCKEYE fan), but I hate the cold weather. I enjoy watching my daughter play whatever sport she is playing at the… Continue
