The gig is up. The last day of Summer has slipped right through my fingers, not because I didn't hold on to it tightly enough, but because all good things must come to an end. I can't truly say that I relaxed enough during my Summer break, nor that I grinded hard enough. What I did was somewhere in the…Continue

I am not sure if our son will ever want to go to college. He's a long way off from that day, and by the time he is old enough for higher learning, college may or may not still be seen as necessary for a successful career. What I am saying is: You never know.…Continue

1. Turn down the thermostat. Either turn up the AC so it’s a little warmer or turn the heat down so it’s running cooler (depending on your part of the country).
2. Run your washer after everyone has taken showers. This will have the water…Continue

Just got off the phone with my health insurance provider. Trying to get them to pay *their share* of the homebirth. You know, the one I discussed with them a year ago. The one they agreed to pay 80% of. Well,
let’s just say I’m having trouble calling them a “provider.” They cut a check for less than 40% of the homebirth.
Can you imagine if your partner “provided” for you like insurance companies manage to?
You give a whole lot of what you have to…Continue
