I write a blog geared to people with autistic and special needs kids. I post about my experiences with raising kids with autism and offer other helpful information. I love to add about places to visit, things to do and other helpful information, so if you have a website, product, place of interest that would be great for, or geared to, kids with autism or special needs, then let me know and I will add you to my blog and my resource section...

I spent the entire day yesterday updating my template. Of course, now that I know all the little tricks, I could probably do it all in less than an hour.
Hope the new look goes with my writing!

I took it upon myself to start a blog to keep my husband's company name fresh in search engines -
but I am not sure how to get the "right" people looking at it.
who are the right people? people who know what the product is and have contacts - my networking is amongst women and mostly moms and a lot of artists and crafters - he needs computer geeks, specifically SAP geeks, paying attention...

Okay - I never usually do things like this on my blog, but I'm feeling very taken by the holiday spirit - and wildly grateful for all that YOU give me by reading this blog, commenting with your brilliant and strong thoughts, telling your friends & colleagues about Writing Roads and being part of my community.
So, I'd like to give you a gift, but only one of you (even though I appreciate you all equally). But, it wouldn't be me if I made this really easy and un-fun. So here is… Continue

I recently read an article about a 10 year old boy who is a bull fighting prodigy. He is from Mexico and is currently traveling in France partaking in non-professional demonstrations in bullfighting schools. In France, the approved age for bull fighters is sixteen. Due to the age gap, the boy’s involvement has resulted in a canceled appearance and has sparked massive debate about the dangers he faces in the ring.
His parents, who both support his… Continue

September 2000 – I am pregnant! This is soooo great! It is my second child. We (my ex and I ) planned it and now we are going to have a baby! I am so excited!
I remember having lunch with one friend of mine who has three children. Over the meal she was telling me that after a second child her breasts grew from size B to size C. She also told me that a friend of hers had her breasts grow two sizes as well! Ooh-la-la! This is good news. I love it!
It’s not that I don’t like… Continue

Yes, you are still at the Writing Roads Blog, aka. Blogging Roads!
Last night my dear designer, Leslie Tane, surprised me by expanding my blog into three columns with a new theme called Amazing Grace, a lightweight, super-optimized WordPress theme packed with features (SEO, Adsense & Widget Ready) created by Vladimir Prelovac. I was thrilled as I’ve been itching for some more elbow room!
One impetus for this space-making was that I’ve been approached by several vendors… Continue

Last year, five of my friends, including myself, were all pregnant. It was the first baby for all of them, but I was on my second. The days of their disinterest as I rambled on about the greatest children’s products were now ignited by their own fervour and zest for the latest baby merchandise. I had to smirk as they discussed which video monitor was essential or how the trendy fifteen hundred dollar stroller was about to go on sale. All too often I was read reviews, taken to stores, shown a… Continue

This weekend I attended a beautiful Greek wedding. It was a very ceremonial event lasting over an hour and filled with tradition and symbolism. At one point in the ceremony, the priest spoke about the roles of both the husband and wife. As he read from his scriptures he talked about the bond between a man and a woman, how he is to love her as he loves himself and how she is to love him like no other. As much as she is to honor him, he (the priest… Continue

C'mon, it will be fun!
I actually hate funerals, but this one I am really looking forward to! No, it's not a funeral for a loved one although, I must say, their demise is bittersweet. It is a funeral for my Fat Pants
! The funeral is not today. In fact, the actual date has not been set. That's because they are not dead... yet. The Fat Pants have been in my life toying with my weight and emotions for years and I have had enough! I'm not playing around this time...they… Continue

About a month ago my mother came to visit me. She lives in a relatively small town, so her trips to the city consist of us doing a lot of shopping. Recently, her favorite foundation had run out so we happily made our way down to the expensive department store for a new jar. Due to the birth of my daughter and the lifestyle of a mom with two kids, I had not been using my foundation so I had not actually been to the store in over nine months. Little did I know that they had completely renovated… Continue
