Yappy Happy New Year-1st New Year's Resolution

Hey Kids!

My name is Posha the Rescued Dog. Everybody always asks "What Kind of Dog Am I?".  I know I am happy, beautiful, love to have fun and play with my friends at the dog-park. I love my dog-mommy, Kelly and my sister, Nikkers. You can see the real me below. Everyday is a party.

I am so excited…

Taking a page out of a millennial's book

A few weeks ago, my son and I went through his bookshelf. We pulled out all the books that he identified as "baby books," and ones that he didn't want to read. My little guy can read lots of words by himself now, and although he hasn't moved on to reading himself full books yet, I want his shelves to be ready for him. So, we said good-bye to the "I Love Daddy Because" or "Count to 10" books and took them to our second-hand…

Book Review: ‘Bible Bands: Rubber Band Jewelry’ by Katreina Eden

Bands is a fun, educational how-to book for children who love making jewelry. Not only does it teaches how to make lovely designs, but it also strengthens children’s faith by combining hands-on creativity with Bible verses and stories.

Rubber band jewelry seems to be the hottest new craze, so Eden’s book…

Reading books - the paper kind - every day

Like lots of families, we are purging the massive amount of toys from our household this summer. (Seriously...why does my son have so many cars?) We go through his bins, his closet and his toy trunk, and he identifies the items that he no longer wants to play with so they can go "to other children that would probably like them."…

Technology Orphans

We've all heard the expression 'football widow', but have you heard of a 'technology orphan'? I use this term to describe children who do everything they can to get their parent's attention while the parent has their nose stuck in their smartphone.

I may be a grandmother of five, but do get it.  I am guilty of reading a book, playing a game, or texting (or all three) on my phone while watching TV. And I see nothing wrong with occupying yourself on the phone while waiting in a line or…

Hershey Learns a Lesson by D. C. Rush

In this exciting new release by D. C. Rush the bully learns a lesson.

About the book: Hershey, the notorious cat from the Robby's Quest storybook series, is still mean-spirited and a bully. Hershey is big, strong and very fast, yet uses all his skills for the wrong reasons; to prey upon the smaller and weaker animals around his yard.

Nomi, the other cat living in the same house, is older and much smaller. Nomi has many friends around the…
