I have a lot of busy moms in my line of work. A lot of them have their own “trade secrets” and I wanted to tap into that knowledge base and share their best tips with you. Here is what I came up with. Many of these are direct quotes from moms like you. If they can do it, so can you! Pick one tip and start there.
-Use grocery delivery services such as Pea Pod. You can set up a recurring delivery so your staples arrive automatically every single week. Don’t spend time at the…Continue
As a mom, I constantly rely on my cell phone to stay in connected with my older children especially when they stay at home alone, with their friends, or while they are participating in their own activities alone. While out in about, I am always worried that my battery on my cell phone will die leaving my children without a way to be able to…Continue

For many parents the new school year also means the return of a familiar question, followed by what I will call “The Homework Power Struggle”. It starts off something like this…”Did you do your Homework?”….”I don’t have any homework!” AAAAAAAAAAAH!!!! You know they have homework or at least something to study besides the text messages coming in every 5…Continue

This is a follow-up to my last blog post. I just made more Egg Muffins, and I wanted to share the delicious outcome with you. I changed the recipe a bit and added six organic eggs, chopped onions, grated cheeses and turkey bacon. If you want them to puff up a bit more than use 6 eggs instead of four and cook for 20-25 mins instead of 10-15. Click on…Continue

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Your mother said it; your grandmother said it and doctors agree. However, chances are they don’t live the same hectic and crazy life you do. If you are like me, you probably nibble on stuff, eat a piece of fruit running out the door or you just hang in there until lunch.
So, how do…Continue

Have you ever thought about becoming a Work At Home Mom (WAHM)? I thought about it long and hard the day I sat down and calculated how many students I had suspended, and how many had been arrested in just one week. When my daughter was born I took one look at her and knew that I had to figure something out fast.
Now back to my question. Have you ever dreamt of a job…Continue

Almost every day, I run into a busy mama friend and the first thing she says to me is, “Don’t look at me, I didn’t have time to put makeup on today!” Trust me, I’ve had my days too. After some time though, it got me thinking. How long does it really take us to put makeup on? Is it that time consuming…Continue

A new year gives you the opportunity to start over and make changes that can affect your overall health and well being. The number one New Year’s resolution each year for many people is to lose weight or to become more physically fit. However, only 92% of people actually achieve their goal. I normally don’t set resolutions for myself because I know that in order to change, I would need to set small attainable goals in order to see the results that I am looking…Continue

some of you already know that yoga is good for you, some of you might think that you don't have time for anything, let alone a yoga class. Yes, yoga class would be nice, but you can definitely squeeze 10 minutes every day in your busy schedule, and do a simple yoga exercise at home, while kids are gone to school, or in the evening when they are gone to bed.
Yoga has many health…Continue
By the end of the day today my face looked like it was melting off so I decided that it was time to head to the mall to get a new type of foundation. So I head to the mall with the hubby and the little man in tow. Of course Nick abandoned me instantly to go to GNC where he could tell the little guy behind the counter yet again that their nutrition bars are WAY too expensive. Anyway... so me and Collin head to the Estee Lauder counter in Dillards. She matches my foundation shade as a…Continue

If you had a free hour… or even a free day, what would you do with it? You may imagine that you’d read all the books and magazines that have been collecting dust in your home. Or maybe you’d rent the entire season of your favorite show from Netflix and watch nine episodes in a row. Or maybe…Continue

It's frustrating being sick. If you can't sleep but have to rest what do you do? For the first few hours it may be fun but after that it is just boring. How do we keep the mind busy while the body rests?
For a lucky few this isn't a problem. They are able to sleep and heal. Sleep is a struggle for many of the rest of us though and those hours in bed or on the couch get very long.
Whether you are a child or an adult there are lots of options though. Some you may not be…Continue

Want to start exercising but feel you don’t have the time? Are you overwhelmed with work, family, cleaning, errands and other commitments? Taking care of a family and running a household is very demanding, whether you work outside the home or not. There is so much going on that we run out of time before we can fit in exercise.
The first thing to do is determine where you are spending all your time. Keep a time log for a few days to a…Continue

My little monster never (rarely) takes a nap for me. She loves her mommy so much that she doesn’t want to close her eyes at all when I am around. Nevermind the fact that I enjoy quiet time and I can accomplish a lot more when she is down for nap. No, she parties hard when mommy’s around.
This semester, for the first time ever, I am taking day classes because I have to (budget cuts, lack of classes, last semester for B.A., etc.). So I go to school at 1:00. Guess what my little one…Continue
