It’s not long before the first murder and you know exactly who is behind it. It’s not really a mystery, though the main character has some history she’s afraid to reveal that remains a mystery for a while and that was good. This is a thriller, filled with suspense and realistic characters. The author is a family physician and the book reflects a deep knowledge of the medical field. You feel that the medical details could have leapt right off any medical chart it’s so real and exact. I…Continue

Yesterday afternoon when my son got into the car, he was asking his sister if she ever put salt on ice. I didn’t realize that he was talking about putting the salt and ice combination on his skin. I just assumed that his science teacher was teaching them about temperature changes using salt and ice. Then this afternoon, I noticed a huge red spot…Continue

If any of you happened to see my Facebook status on Monday you know that I faced a motherhood dilemma.
Scenario; I had asked our kindergartener ½ a dozen times if he placed his lunch in his backpack and to which he replied, yes, each time. So, I drop the kiddos off at school. I get home and go to the fridge to get our 3-year-old a snack and guess what I see in the fridge? His lunch!! Mind you, I asked him like ½…Continue

I haven’t been reading books as quickly as I was a few months ago. I have several books in my pile, that I am slowly reading. I wish I had more time to read but things have been crazy around my house over the last few weeks. The kids will be heading back to school in less than a mouth and I hope that I can get back into my normal routine. I love having…Continue

I am finished reading another great book called “Snow Escape” by Roberta Goodman. I have been following her on twitter for a few weeks and I had seen several posts regarding her book. I sent her a message on Twitter and asked her if I could review her book. She said, “that she would be honored if I reviewed her book.” This book is full of twists and turns, leaving you wondering where the author is going to lead each of the characters…Continue

“Discovering You” is an excellent read and I highly recommend it. The book is a bit longer than most books and it is divided into three sections. Once I started reading this book, I could hardly put it down. It was full of twists and turns which kept the book interesting in its entirety. The book took place during the winter of 1812 in Southern England in an area called Daleford Manor. As the book begins, you will learn about Nicholas Davenport and his late wife, Marie, lived at…Continue

I have been reading quite frequently these days and wanted to share another great book with my followers. I downloaded “Long Time Coming” by Edie Claire on e-book and I loved this book from the very start. Joy decides to return to her hometown of Wharton when her father’s illness forces her to return. She left the town of Wharton over 18 years ago, shortly after her best friend Jenny was killed in a horrific car accident just a few days after senior prom. After graduation, Joy high…Continue

I picked up “Love, Charleston” by Beth Webb Hart at book store closing event almost two years ago. I finally was able to get a chance to read this book a few weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. It started out kinda slow in the first chapter but after the first chapter, I was hooked. After reading the book, I understood why the first chapter was a bit slower than the rest of the book. The first chapter explained the history of Pastor and Widower Roy Summerall. It explained why he…Continue

Buying Maternity Clothing I thought would be easy-peasy for me. I would go to the regular stores I shopped at pre-baby bump and just buy a size or two larger. This idea of mine was very short lived at my trip across the boarder this weekend when…Continue
