Let me just say that potty training is really annoying. I have been potty training Liam for a little over 2 months now and it has definitely had its trials of frustration. Just when I think he’s understanding how things work and stays dry for a couple days in a row, he goes and has days were all he does is pee in his undies and doesn’t want to go on the potty. I wanted to start him when he was 2, but I was just about to give birth to Reagan. I heard so many stories about kids reverting when…Continue

Establishing a love of reading can be tricky sometimes. Children who would rather run around and be active physically may not see the "fun" in exploring through a story... at first. The key is to choose books that speaks specifically to their interest and personality. Allow them to select which books stand out to them - superheroes, all things locomotives, comedies, comics, holiday themed, etc. As they become excited about what they're reading, they'll want to do it more! Go a step further…Continue

As a working mother, I have become accustomed to being flexible and making changes. Change is constant and it is not always easy or welcomed. It could be something as simple as a sick child or something drastic like a career change and relocation. With those changes, I always have to take into…Continue

With all the television that I watched as a child, I recall there being an awful lot of Public Service Announcements. There was the egg one about your brain on drugs (and the other drug one where the frying pan destroyed the kitchen), and all the more you…Continue

Which kind of mommy are you? I went to the Geneva International Motor Show to pick out the hottest cars for us moms.
I had the good fortune to get press tickets to the opening of the Geneva International Motor Show today and like the intrepid reporter that I am, I made sure to get some pictures of some of the sexiest new cars for us working mums. These will certainly get you noticed on the school run.…Continue
We have two cars in our household. One is my husband's (the DaddyWagon) and one is mine (the MommyBus). I use my car to go to work, sit in traffic, drop our son off at school and run errands on the weekends.…Continue

Many people dread gift giving season for a number of reasons, but one of the most difficult tasks can be choosing a gift for someone who has a unique hobby or interest. While it might seem simple to choose a gift for the person who has a niche interest, if the giver is not savvy and up to date on the items within that niche, headaches and a few tears could ensue.
This can be especially true if that person in your life is a car lover. Gearheads, as they’re sometimes referred to, have a…Continue

I'd like to issue a long-overdue apology to each of the five roommates I had in college: I'm sorry that I did not answer the phone when it was ringing. I knew that it drove you crazy, but I was absorbed in something else/didn't feel like talking to anyone, and thus, did not answer the phone.

Your little one is in the back seat of your car. Where is your rear view mirror pointed? At the back windshield or at your child?
We've all done it: Even we parents who are really good about not answering our cell phones while driving have reached back to push some dirty sneakers off our seats or open a snack or help…Continue

Each summer I always cringe when I hear sad stories on the new about parents or daycare workers accidentally leaving a child inside of a hot car, in some cases the child was only left alone few minutes. As a mom, I always wondered how and why these kind of things happen to an infant or child. I know that I personally make sure that my kids are out of the car…Continue

When most people think about staying in a nice hotel, eco-friendly doesn’t exactly come to mind. Think about all the people taking hot showers, running the air conditioning in their rooms, and watching TV, not to mention washing all the towels and bedding. It’s mind boggling to think about how much energy is being used. But, believe it or not, there are hotels that not only care about offering comfortable amenities and convenience to their guests, but care about our planet as…Continue

Sitting around with Matthew discussing prescription drug commercials and wondering about the various side-effects.
So many to choose from. How do the patients know which to select?
I mean, that's why they list them,…

** Naked is evidently the way to go this summer.
** As much as I love my husband, I really don't think I'd tackle someone trying to throw a pie in his face.
** Chopsticks actually help get my kids to eat their veggies.
** My son thinks I'm a car and driver expert.
** I am NOT a car and driver…Continue
