Amazing Gifts for the Car Lover in Your Life

Many people dread gift giving season for a number of reasons, but one of the most difficult tasks can be choosing a gift for someone who has a unique hobby or interest. While it might seem simple to choose a gift for the person who has a niche interest, if the giver is not savvy and up to date on the items within that niche, headaches and a few tears could ensue.

This can be especially true if that person in your life is a car lover. Gearheads, as they’re sometimes referred to, have a…

How long can you ignore your phone?

I'd like to issue a long-overdue apology to each of the five roommates I had in college: I'm sorry that I did not answer the phone when it was ringing. I knew that it drove you crazy, but I was absorbed in something else/didn't feel like talking to anyone, and thus, did not answer the phone.

But, I…

My backseat driver can't see over the steering wheel

These are things I regularly hear from the backseat:

  • What does that sign say?
  • How fast are we going?…

Hey Mom: Keep your eyes on the road

Your little one is in the back seat of your car. Where is your rear view mirror pointed? At the back windshield or at your child?

We've all done it: Even we parents who are really good about not answering our cell phones while driving have reached back to push some dirty sneakers off our seats or open a snack or help…

Prevent Heat Related Car Accidents This Summer

Each summer I always cringe when I hear sad stories on the new about parents or daycare workers accidentally leaving a child inside of a hot car, in some cases the child was only left alone few minutes.  As a mom, I always wondered how and why these kind of things happen to an infant or child.  I know that I personally make sure that my kids are out of the car…

Eco-Friendly Luxury

When most people think about staying in a nice hotel, eco-friendly doesn’t exactly come to mind.  Think about all the people taking hot showers, running the air conditioning in their rooms, and watching TV, not to mention washing all the towels and bedding.  It’s mind boggling to think about how much energy is being used.  But, believe it or not, there are hotels that not only care about offering comfortable amenities and convenience to their guests, but care about our planet as…

Some Dreams Are Just To Bizarre To Explain

Sitting around with Matthew discussing prescription drug commercials and wondering about the various side-effects.

So many to choose from.  How do the patients know which to select?

I mean, that's why they list them,…

Things I've Learned This Week

** Naked is evidently the way to go this summer.

** As much as I love my husband, I really don't think I'd tackle someone trying to throw a pie in his face.

** Chopsticks actually help get my kids to eat their veggies.

** My son thinks I'm a car and driver expert.

** I am NOT a car and driver…

The Car Color Car Game

After we moved to the country, Colby spent an entire year driving Bunny to her preschool in our old neighborhood. On an average day, the commute was 45 minutes…on a bad day, well over an hour. Bunny hated the commute. For 1-½ hours five days a week she had to sit in the backseat of her Daddy’s car or truck, listening to CNBC and him… Continue

I am not a Baby Mommy anymore!

First, let me say Happy Birthday to my first born!!! Thomas turned 11 today and I can barely stand it! I can still feel those labor pains if I think back to where I was at this time 11 years ago! I am also saddened, in a way, to see how much time has changed Mommyhood for me and life for him. He most certainly wasn’t interested in having a birthday party this year. The days of Chuck E Cheez, Bowling and Miracle Maze parties are behind us now. Sniff Sniff.

Another change was in his… Continue
