Organizing is hard. And not just because it takes physical & mental energy, determination, and stamina. It’s also hard because there are so many layers. You can’t just go into a room and tackle it right then and there. You have to clean, discard, sort, relocate, and improve. As much as I wish I could tackle room after room in one epic sweep, it’s just not possible.
One of the January goals I set as part of my month of being an…Continue

There is a phenomenal woman that I work with. Every day she comes into the office a half-hour early, sits in the break room and reads. She regularly encourages other people to take time to do the things that they love. And when I once asked her who she could make happier right now, she said she wanted to make herself happier by putting in the same amount of time into her interests as she invests in the people around her.…Continue
I'm at a point now where I feel ready to add more of a challenge to my workouts. For a while, I've been pinning workouts on Pinterest and going googly eyes over women body parts that I want to emulate (guns, buns and abs...get your mind out of the gutter, lol). I continue the same old routine without much change, so I'm not seeing much change physically. I need to push myself. Next week I start crossfit training…Continue

What I absolutely adore most about this experience is how many people said they were going to pay it forward. And the fact that when I logged onto Facebook that night a friend had said that someone paid for her coffee and she…Continue

** I've seen no less than 14,789 people dump ice over their heads throughout the past few days.
** Being the adult is often times way harder than being the kid.

I know lots of moms. Some are crafty, some are incredibly active and others are unbelievably excellent cooks. Then there are the ones who make the whole work/life thing look ridiculously easy. It's that last set of moms that get to us. The ones who seem to have the perfect children, house, marriage - the ones that make us question how we are lacking in our own lives.…Continue

Yesterday afternoon when my son got into the car, he was asking his sister if she ever put salt on ice. I didn’t realize that he was talking about putting the salt and ice combination on his skin. I just assumed that his science teacher was teaching them about temperature changes using salt and ice. Then this afternoon, I noticed a huge red spot…Continue

Remember playing car-racing games at the arcade, trying to stay on the virtual road while going as fast as you can? In those videos, sharp curves keep switching and obstacles suddenly appear, causing you to crash and burn if your reactions aren’t fast enough.
It may be fun to play a game, but what about when life itself mirrors this wild ride? Whether you're actually on a…Continue

Do you know what your kids are doing for summer fun? Have you heard them talking about food challenges? Have they mentioned the chubby bunny game, the choking game, or burns? If you have heard them talking about any of these activities, they may be involved in potentially dangerous activities or know someone else who is involved in risky behaviors.
The activities listed in this blog can be an issue year-round, however the risk to children and teens during the summer months is…Continue
