Okay, I have had this recipe for a long time and now I am going to share it with you all. My first job was at a smoothie place in my hometown in Florida. I worked there for about 6-9 months and then my sister came on board. We created this smoothie and it is awesome!! Who loves Chocolate?! Who loves Peanut Butter?! Who loves Chocolate and Peanut…

One day, about week or so ago, when my hubby came home from work, he said, “Guess what I had at work today?”
Since his office tends to order food in for the employees quite often, it could have been pretty much anything, so of course, I didn’t know.

Let me just say that potty training is really annoying. I have been potty training Liam for a little over 2 months now and it has definitely had its trials of frustration. Just when I think he’s understanding how things work and stays dry for a couple days in a row, he goes and has days were all he does is pee in his undies and doesn’t want to go on the potty. I wanted to start him when he was 2, but I was just about to give birth to Reagan. I heard so many stories about kids reverting when… Continue

Now, as most of y’all know I am often called a Pollyanna thanks to my glass is half full positive outlook on life. However there is one thing in this world that quickly turns this Pollyanna into a Negative Nelly and that is a good old-fashioned cookie exchange! Shocking, but true! I have participated in my fair share and even organized a few and let me tell you, now I understand what they mean by a labor of love. Except for in this case, unlike actual labor where you totally forget… Continue

Camping isn't on our list of trips for this year (maybe next year), but I still wanted to introduce my kids to one of the great camping experiences ever... S'mores! There's just something about the ooey, gooey, stickiness of the marshmallows and the sweet, smooth chocolate that is enough for me to deem camping as one adventure that everyone must try... at least once in their life. (Of course, there is the beauty of nature and all the creatures you may not normally see, but I'm speaking… Continue

Women place a lot of faith in expensive moisturizers and wrinkle creams, waiting months for them to do what the label promises. Surprisingly though, research is consistently showing that eating certain foods will beautify your skin from the inside out without the cost of those high-priced items… Continue

Please, feel free to view the original post on my blog, Mama Chirps :)
I have to post this recipe, mostly for future reference, because it was awesome! Not to mention, it was paleo AND vegan, too. I decided to experiment today and ventured outside of the normal old smoothie box, and came up with a healthy Chocolate Banana Green Smoothie. Continue

If you read my post last Monday, which you can access here, you know that cooking was never my favorite household chore. It always ranked right up there with ironing and scrubbing the toilet bowl. But the family has to eat, am I right?
Actually, it wasn’t the cooking part that I had an aversion to, nor was it wondering what to make. I have tons of great cookbooks and recipes that have been handed down over the years so culinary ideas are not the issue. It wasn’t even the cleanup… Continue

Learn how to make chocolate chip cookies that are similar to the ones that you can buy at the mall. I made the Nestle Tollhouse version and few years ago. When I tasted them, they tasted bland as if something was missing. These cookies were exactly what I was looking for. For the recipe, visit us at Uplifting Families for the full recipe.
