If you've recently celebrated a landmark birthday, you may be thinking about the milestones in your life. Crossing from one personal decade into another is a significant event and takes on a life of its own. Connecting with friends who are also making this transition can help focus on what you've gained over the years – memories, perspective, wisdom – rather than on what you've lost – agility, some energy, your youth!…

When I was a little girl, the majority of my friends did not come home to an empty house like I did. They knew that their moms were waiting for them with a hug, a smile and some cookies and milk. Their moms were there to make sure they changed out of their “school clothes” so that they could go outside and play. And once their dads came home from work, they knew it was time to “wash up for supper” and join the family at the dining room table. I’ll admit it; as a little girl, I… Continue

honestly, i'm at this point where i don't know what i want to be when i grow up.
silly for a 36 year old woman, isn't it?
being an entrepreneur opens you open to so many possibilities.
and choosing to work with mom bloggers as your main clients, your niche, opens you up to even more possibilities.
at the end of the day, I… Continue

My husband always tell me to tell it like it is so hear goes....We have 4 young children and as they are developing I realize more and more how important our choices are for them. Not that we are always making the right ones but at least trying to get it right is better then just not doing anything.
When our first child Luke was born we were like any other parent so conscious of everything. Is he breathing? Is he to hot/cold? Wanting him to hit every milestone 2 months ahead… Continue

Couponing, it least extreme couponing typically does not allow for the healthier food option at the grocery. I found a healthier way to save some money at the grocery.
I am saving $81.00 a month at the grocery. I am sharing my YouTube video with you that explains it all:) Yes Tawna on YouTube, I am getting the hang of it! Tried embedding it but it will not show up so here is the link. My channel is tawna6988…

Yesterday, I bought my son a toy at a local consignment store. It was a little pink plastic doll house complete with little family, furniture and decorative accents. You guys, I have never seen a little boy so excited to get a surprise. He was ecstatic. Thing is though, when I checked out, the lady asked me how old my daughter is. When I replied that it was actually for my oldest son who is three, she made the awfulest face and replied that they had a boy toy’s section and asked if I had… Continue

Over the past week I've been mulling over my state of affairs. No writing. Thinking. Reflecting. Considering.
I've been thinking about my day-to-day activities and long-term plans. As a stay-at-home mom, I've got a pretty good gig. I can't get fired, I don't get performance reviews (most of the time), and I get to spend time with my kids, volunteer at school and care for my… Continue

As Christmas draws near, I'm reminded of the one parenting topic that your father and I don't quite see eye-to-eye on. Santa Claus. I know I run the risk of being labeled a scrooge here, but I'm not totally sold on 'doing the Santa thing' with you. You sure do look cute in a Santa hat, though.…

This was originally posted on my blog at www.centralcoasttoday.com.
After having been here nearly 8 months, I am still in shock about the lack of options for expectant moms in central coast.
I have come to learn that there are a couple of hospitals, and one or two home-birth midwives in the area as far as birthing options, and THAT IS IT.
The nearest freestanding birth clinic… Continue

So, my oldest daughter is getting older and with that she wants to make more decisions on her own. I have to realize that she is getting older as much as I don't want to! In one way its great because we can do more and talk about more but then you realize how fast time goes and one day she will be all grown up and on her own. Time goes by to fast. It seems like it was yesterday when it was just her and I. Now, she has friends and those baby moments are just memories. I don't want to loose one… Continue

I was talking with a friend the other day and she is trying to make a decision about taking her daugther from the current gymnastics gym to a better one. Her daughter has been at this gym for 5 years and the gym can know longer provide the training her daughter needs to take herself to the next level. My friend was talking about how negative the gym is, how she doesn't like one of the coaches and all the problems the gym has and how it has just brought her daughters self esteem down and she has… Continue
