As a parent, we're often so used to running on autopilot that we rarely ever even stop to think about why we're doing something. We just continue to do it mindlessly, day after day after day. Take, for instance, the gazillion and one loads of never-ending laundry and the gazillion and one loads of multiplying…Continue

A few weeks ago, I noticed that our dryer was taking a long time to get our clothes dry. I decided to get my older children to help me do some investigating and try to find the source of the problem. I had a feeling that there was some lint trapped in the dryer hose but after investigating a little bit we discovered…Continue

You might not have an idea of how many times the entire day you touch your expensive cell phone to talk. To call, to do a text, to check emails, to retrieve some important stuff and also to show off. Do you wash your hands every time when you pick for a new task? You might be giving “are you kidding me” stare, but let’s get serious. Do you wash your hands? The answer of this question is “NO”.
No matter how clean are your hands, there are minute dust/dirt and oiliness on your hands and…Continue

For years I have been buying expensive organic or natural products for our bodies and home, and it's been a frustrating process. I'm frustrated that there are HARMFUL products allowed to be sold in this country, I'm frustrated the ones that aren't are often more than I can afford. And until recently, I was frustrated with myself for not having enough time to make my own. I assumed it was very time consuming and as a working mom there was no way I could add one more thing to my to…Continue

Some women view cleaning up as a chore, but I view it as a step by step process that is organized, effective and actually relaxing (crazy I know). Allow me to explain:
Here is picture of my kitchen after dinner, which pretty much looks like a disaster. There are dishes everywhere, items to be stored and put away, dirty napkins, counter tops that are littered with cutting boards, grease and the remnants of a delicious meal.…Continue

Ah, some me time! I'm not hanging out in my garden, sprucing up, checking out what's growing and planting more seeds which seems to have become my norm. I'm not taking a trip to the mall, which used to be my norm. Nope! I was cleaning up my house. Can you believe cleaning has become "me time"? I'm lovin' it!
My husband took the kids to a graduation…

Is your bathroom a disaster? Does your bathroom need deep cleaning? I know mine is usually cluttered with beauty products and personal items on the bathroom counter. The bathrooms in our house are lacking in storage so our personal care items usually end up sitting on top of the…Continue

My life has changed!
No, really. I am so excited to tell you about this new cleaning system and trust me, there’s not much that has to do with cleaning that excites me. But this, my friends, this has to be shared with mamas everywhere! It’s called the…Continue

If you’re like me, when kids came into your world you wanted everything in your home to be as clean as possible. You probably went to great lengths to disinfect everything because you wanted your child to live in the cleanest environment. And you may have even safely assumed that as long as the cleaning supplies you were using weren’t bothering you, they weren’t bothering your baby either. Sadly, that’s not true.
Here are 4 of the most toxic ingredients that are found in almost…Continue

Do you spend your weekend trying to get some cleaning accomplished? Most women usually end up cleaning on Saturday mornings, especially, if the younger kids are still asleep. This is a perfect time to clean up the kitchen and the living room. Cleaning up these two rooms doesn’t have to take more than…Continue

Most people I know are eager to welcome the approach of Spring and all that goes with it: opening the windows for fresh air, planting flowers, putting out the patio furniture. What most people are probably not thrilled about? Spring cleaning.
The idea of giving your house a good old fashioned…Continue

I have a confession to make: I was not always a Green Mom. Just like I wasn’t “born” being a mom, I wasn’t born being green either. Growing up, I ate vegetables out of a can, drank water out of the hose on hot days, and consumed waaaaay too much sugary cereal. As a teen, I sprayed too much hairspray from an aerosol can, threw things away without thinking, and drove every chance I got, even if I was only going down the block.
When I did become a mom, my attitude…Continue

In June of 2011, I began using a breast pump on a regular basis to start building a stash of breast milk for my baby so that he would have plenty of milk once I returned back to work. When I returned to work, I knew exactly where I would have to use my breast pump but I never did put much thought into how I planned on cleaning my breast pump parts after I finished a pumping session. Luckily at my job, we had a break room that had a clean sink. Thankfully, I didn’t have to worry about…

** The time change is making me think I'm late to everything. (O.k., so later than usual).
** My town has already put up its Christmas decorations. So we can now eat our Halloween candy under the mistletoe.
** After a thorough cleaning of my daughter's room, turns out there isn't a dead body in there after all.
** As predicted, back-to-school has totally kicked my ass up and down and all around.
** Always trust your gut. Unless it's telling you to eat a dozen donuts.
** My daughter's wreck of a room looks like a junk store had the stomach flu.
** Goatdog is evidently a HUGE fan of the food in the pantry.
** If I had…Continue
