Has THIS ever happened to YOU? OH! You must be MARRIED!

If the roll is empty, change it. If it looks like it might be getting empty, change it. If you think that there may even be a remote chance that there are only two squares left, grab a new roll and (wait for it)... CHANGE it!

There's nothing quite like reaching over to find an empty roll of toilet paper after you've finished doing your business; but somehow it happens,…

First Chapter Reveal: Rowena and the Dark Lord, by Melodie Campbell (comic fantasy, time travel)

Dark magic…dark passions….

When Rowena is abducted from Arizona and taken back to medieval Land’s End, one thing is clear: she must learn to control her powers of magic. It isn’t easy being a modern girl in an archaic land, and when Rowena accidently conjures up a Roman Legion in mid-battle, Land’s End is on the brink of a…

Book Review: Serial Date, by D.V. Berkom

Serial Date was a surprisingly entertaining read filled with witty writing and dark humor.

In an unexpected turn of fate, former assassin Leine Basso is offered a job working security in Los Angeles at a gigantic hit reality show called  Serial Date–where beautiful young women get to date ex-cons posing as serial killers. Though L.A.brings her bad memories, Leine…

Girls' Night Out Gone Wrong

This past weekend, some girlfriends and I had organized a fun night out in downtown Chicago.  No husbands, no kids, just us girls kickin' it in the city.  Unfortunately, though, our whole night was planned around a godforsaken musical that we'd bought tickets to see on LivingSocial.  It was called, "Girls Night: The Musical" and promised to be a super fun mix of…

Confession: I love Korean Dramedies

It started innocently enough. We were scraping the bottom of what Netflix had to offer and I had some free time during naps. As embarrassed as I am to admit it, that innocent journey into the world of Korean dramedy has led to an almost 20 hour a week obsession. Apparently, it's my new part-time job. Just imagine what I could be getting done with that time...…

Adequate Parenting Manifesto

It starts the day you pee on the stick. I’m not talking about that

regrettable Valentine’s gesture toward your partner. The stick from CVS

that is 99.9% accurate, and of which you purchased four.

Test Result: You're pregnant

You pee on the stick and the plus sign shows up. Before you’ve finished washing your hands (wash them!!! Use hand sanitizer!!!!), you’ve been conscripted into a war that you…

A Star is Born on the Internet...Literally!

Have you heard about the woman who's going to give birth live on the internet? That's right, according to Boston.com, Lynsee (that's two "E's"), a 23 year-old teacher from Minneapolis, is going to bring forth her 1st child live on camera for the whole world to see.

Am I shocked? Not really. Grossed out a bit, but not shocked. She's going to famous. Really, really famous...for like half a day...maybe longer if she goes for the Petocin. Now who doesn't want that?

According… Continue

The Dark Side

My 9 year old daughter informed our dinner companions last night that I have a "dark side."

Despite the fact that it's true, I was alarmed that my daughter picked up on it. Of course, my sister and cousin were hysterical laughing and pointing fingers at me. I told them to "shut-up."

Does a 9 year old even know what a dark side is? And if so, when did she see it? Did she see me scratch my nose with my middle finger at some old lady who cut us off the other day? Did she… Continue

My Personal Studio Audience

My Personal Studio Audience

by Pam Victor

Wouldn’t it be fun to have a studio audience follow you where ever you go? I’m thinking about an Oprah-styled audience here. Very supportive. Very pro-you. I haven’t watched Oprah in years, but one of the parts about her show that always intrigued me was her ability to say to her audience, “Isn’t that right, folks?!” And the studio audience would cheer enthusiastically in eager reply. Wouldn’t it be so satisfying to have that kind of… Continue
