Things I've Learned This Week

** Once again, I have no desire to go out and get all crazy on New Year's Eve.  (I'd rather do it the night BEFORE New Year's Eve.)

** Christmas cookies seriously kicked my ass this year.

** Trying to write with a house full of people is like trying to have sex with a house full of people (uh....not that I would know or…

Remember that story a few weeks ago when we lost the mother fucking Elf on the Shelf, and I was all panicked that it might be the last Christmas for believing in Santa in my household?  Well, it saddens me beyond words, but I'm pretty sure the jig is up (at…

Is it really that bad?

Should I really say NO?

So my son has been a really picky eater lately. Well he was born picky. It is hard not to compare him to my daughter because she came out a great eater. She loves healthy food and even asks for cold water over…

Letting it all hang out

Not literally of course, that wouldn't be pretty at my age.  I'm referring to writing honestly and not holding things back.

In my professional life I am known as a very well-respected expert in the field of cat behavior. I have written 7 books on the subject and have worked full-time in this field for 25 years. I am IAABC certified and AABP certified and enjoyed having a career where I feel confident. That's when something happened to my common sense and reasoning and…

Cookie Mix Recipes for Busy Moms ~ www.TheBloggingMom.com ~

I love to bake and now that I am staying home with my little guy, I can actually bake cookies for the older kids hubby seems to eat most of them. They love to take a sweet homemade teat in their lunchbox each day, and I am glad to be able to bake them. Problem is... I don't always have the time to go looking for creative cookie or brownie recipes. Cakes and pies are great, but cookies and brownies are the favorites at the Phillips' house.

So, in my search for easy… Continue

Jaydon lately has been struggling during changing time. As soon as I lay him down and he sees the fresh diaper, he is squirming to get away. He screams, he struggles, he cries and many times he succeeds in running off naked.

This morning he is heading for the stairs to make his break and run away but stops to take a pee first. I run over yelling "NOooooo". He stops… Continue
