Holy Craftoly

Holy Craftoly

So it was the day before my very first craft show. In the morning I meticulously.....okay who am I kidding.....I obsessive compulsively checked and rechecked my lists and boxes to make sure I had everything I "needed". Not knowing what to expect, I had compiled lists using suggested guides of "what to bring to…

Using old Christmas Cards for Gift Tags

Each Christmas I collect all my old cards and put them away for the next year. Not because I am sentimental, but because I know they can be re-purposed for the next year’s gift tags! It’s really easy to do. Read more about creating gift tags from Christmas cards.

Clean Collage

I like providing a variety of art activities for my little girl. I believe that like literacy, creativity needs to be fostered. In particular, open-ended art projects are especially important in our house. Painting, drawing, sculpting....

Store KidArt Smarter! Kidfolio Review

Tired of having glitter, pom poms, and wrinkled up paintings scattered everywhere?! At the risk of sounding a little less than sentimental, I can barely keep up with the massive influx of KidArt from preschool, which sent me searching for storage solutions. I found one that was basic, but brilliant. Oh, and cheap - a total bonus. :)

Stash Busting! Dress #1

So I am on a stash busting mission. My crafting table is overflowing with unused fabric. So before I buy any new fabric...I need to bust through this stash!

This dress is still a bit big for my little girl. But super cute. The colors are really bright and it's not really a fabric you'd typically see on a little girl. Which is kind of why I like it so much. It's very unique.

We had an impromptu photo shoot in the castle in my daughter's room (yes my daughter has a tent… Continue

How to Make a Simple Sock Puppet

The weather’s heating up here in Southern California. We’re fortunate to live just a mere 20-minute drive above the valley below because temperatures easily pass 100 degrees daily in the summer. As you climb the mountain, you literally watch the temperature gauge in the car drop degree by degree, till you arrive at home. A decent 15-20 degrees cooler simply because we’re at 5,000 feet.

But it still gets hot up here in the mountains.

And the hot weather…

How To Teach Children to Sew

I’ve been working on a little project with my girls. I don’t get to it everyday. And, the lesson doesn’t last too long (I am working with a 2 and 4-year-old, you know). But, we’re learning to sew.

Truthfully, sewing with children is a lot of fun…though it does require that you use plenty of patience.…
