The Pain of Parting..

…is nothing to the joy of meeting again.

-Charles Dickens

Reunited and it feeeels so gooood!

It’s back to school time here in VA. That means teachers are back in their classrooms tearing down paper and setting up bulletin boards. To be honest, the first week they are usually sitting in meetings and trying to figure out the expectations for the year, oh and reuniting with work buddies. Most of the time teachers are as excited to see one another as the…

Crash Course in Saving....

Savings Tips_Cute Beltz Blog

As parents some of us find it difficult to start saving. Many of us have 401K/403B plans through our jobs so we believe that’s saving or some think how can I possibly save any money, there’s never any left over?!?!?!?!?  As parents we need a rainy day fund, especially if you have a children, a car, a house or WHATEVER!!! There will always be a time when the unexpected happens.

I started saving early in life, so I was able to buy my first home at 28 years old.  I knew…

What's Your Favorite Love Story?

Growing up my mother, sister and I were true moviegoers. Every Saturday, we were at the movies and to this day I watch a lot of movies, but not at the theaters as much.  Well, I go to the movies, but it’s generally to watch a kids flick. You know how it goes, you have kids and things change.  Thankfully, there is the Library(my #1 source), pay per view, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV and so many other outlets that make movies available quickly.

One of my favorite movies is …

FROGS - OMG I saw the cutest thing...

Remember a while ago when I posted a photo asking if anyone can identify the poop I saw on my windowsill? When I shared the pic on a few social media pages, I received all sorts of answers. Field mice poop, snake poop, lizard poop, mole poop, etc. We've checked and although we do have snakes, rabbits, deer, turtles and other animals that frequent our yards, frogs consider my home paradise. I don't know why I didn't think of…

The Maxi Dress - A Mom's Best Friend

Pinned Image

Summer hits, the dresses come out the closet.  I can throw on a dress and run out the house, so I’m in love with the Maxi dress craze.  I add about three summer dresses to my already well supplied dress “department” each year.  I must say it has grown, but this year, it is time to retire some, as they have just “loved” me long enough, lol.  As I was searching for new dresses, I came across Nordstrom’s website and…

I Love Super Grover 2.0, More Than My Kids!

Every morning I look forward to watching Sesame Streets superhero, Super Grover 2.0 with my girls.  My girls always rush me to get them dress, “hurry Mommy, so  YOU can see Super Grover!”  I asked my girls this morning if they knew why I loved Super Grover?  They said because he is always trying to help and I told them, “yes!” for the most part…  I love Super Grover because he never gives up, no matter the…

Daily Deal Sites, LOVE Them Or ...?

While talking to a few Mom friends we got on the topic of the deal a day sites and come to find out many of them used them frequently and loved the deals they were receiving. I have shopped Zulily a few times and was cool with the deal, but often I find that you have to get there quick for the hot deals because the do go quickly.

So far, I have perused Totsy and Zulily and I like what I see. I haven’t checked out…

D-ring and Velcro Belts for Kids, Which To Choose and Why

When I started my company, Cute Beltz I was so excited because let’s face it, you couldn’t and still can’t find belts for toddlers in the major chains and I was going to make sure every kid’s “bum” was covered! After 4 years, I am still excited about belts! It really is a wonderful feeling to hear a “thank you” from so many of you!

I love that we offer two types of belts because no person is the same and we all have a look in mind when we purchase an accessory. So it’s cool we offer…

Kindle Cover

I am bound and determined to make some goals for the year. First goal on the list?

Make Something.

I left it intentionally vague, just in case I let the whole year slide and had to make something up. (why would I do that? I don't know, but it nevertheless sounds like something I would end up doing.)

I decided to use my…

Hiking, Lion Poop and Dexter Rangers

“There really is nothing like a weekend getaway to the mountains. After an early morning of coffee and coffee, I decided to go on one of the many hikes this community boasted. Because I am an overachiever and think I’m a triathlete, despite never having attempted one, I headed to the most difficult trail. It read on the complex map “MOST DIFFICULT.” Well, that was for me. I set out after a little stretching.

Black Friday – it’s Not Just About Fashion

Fashion, eh? It comes and goes, then comes back around again, at once fleeting and eternal. A style is in one month and then is never heard of again – until it is heard of again, of course.

The quest for fashionable clothes never ends; it’s just that what is in vogue is always changing.…
