When I was in fourth grade, I remember watching Saturday morning cartoons with my younger brother while my mom would sleep late. In between these cartoon shows, ABC began airing these four-minute music videos by a Puerto Rican group of teenage boys who called themselves Menudo. While my brother would point and laugh at these dark-haired pre-pubescent boys wearing matching outfits, shaking their little hips and singing Spanish songs about shopping malls and…

Dare to follow your dreams!

This Mom is NOT Too Old To Party!

Pole Dancing As A Sport...Really?

Alana and Lexie asked me to write about pole dancing...yes I was concerned, becaue they are only 14. But I was also flattered because they had a blog request....pole dancing....artistic pole dancing.

So, I watched a bunch of pole dancing videos and here are my thoughts

I'm an Odd One I tell You!

So is it weird that I listen to P!nk and Taylor Swift back to back? I

have these musical sides to me that I just don't know where they come

from. I have this hard you can't touch me side, but want to have this

soft vulnerable side to me as well. I'm so into music these days. I

seriously was an artist in another life. I used to dance, I used to play

guitar, I was in choir and used to sing and I used to play piano..then

for whatever reason, I stopped. But music still… Continue

@$#*%! Friday! For Sh**s & Giggles!

For Sh**s & Giggles!

Why yes, I have been MIA lately, thank you for noticing…though I’m not certain if 6 days without posting actually qualifies. Granted, I have never left my post…get it, post??…for that long before, but I have my reasons. Since it’s @$#*%! Friday!, I’m not overly inclined to share them with you. I’d wind up getting run out of Crazy Town by angry villagers…

The Fine Art of Car dancing

I’ve been car dancing for as long as I can remember. Maybe I got a little more free with my moves when tinted windows became popular. I guess I thought I was semi-hidden until someone I knew saw me and never

let me live it down. Eventually, I just didn’t care anymore. I busted

my moves, cut my rug, and mashed those potatoes – in the car, in the

grocery aisles, on the sidewalks. If the mood struck, I was DANCING.

Of course the fine art of car dancing is no fun alone, so…

Don't Dance in Front of Your Kid!

I've been asked to re-post this; while it's true that it's easy to scroll down and find it, my friend pointed out that new visitors to the blog might not do so, and another friend said they hadn't seen this one at all. So, since it's a favorite I'm going to repost it.

I also want to add one thought about why kids don't like their parents to dance in front of them. I touched on this in the comments section, but I want to elaborate. Dancing sexualizes a person (I mean, unless you're… Continue

Introduction

Gee, thanks to everyone who has so warmly welcomed me to the blogging world! You are all very gracious and I am excited about sharing on here.

I'll start off with a little about myself and my daughter.

I am a single mother (though I am in a serious relationship with a guy who has a son). I work as a teacher at a middle school here in Ohio. I love Ohio (HUGE BUCKEYE fan), but I hate the cold weather. I enjoy watching my daughter play whatever sport she is playing at the… Continue
