Wineducation: Valentine's Wine Picks

There is many a besotted couple that only wine on Valentines Day because of the pressure to make this day special. The rest of the three hundred and sixty-four days of the year they rely upon other sorts of spirits to provide that warm and fuzzy buzz, so when this holiday focused on Love rolls around every February, these once a year wine drinkers are left staring aimlessly at the wine aisle with no clue what wine to pair with their impending evening of…

Suck It, Mother Nature

wire hangers

I'd always thought that Mother Nature and I kind of had a connection -- you know with the whole "mother" thing and all.  But I'm really starting to think that she's falsely assumed her title because no mama in her right mind would make it so damn cold outside that kids are off school and trapped indoors for days on…

Show the LOVE - A countdown to Valentine's Day

love that February is a month that we really have the opportunity to tell our families how much we truly love them. I think throughout the year we get busy going and doing, that we don’t pause very often to tell each person how we feel. This past year, I have learned to NEVER let a minute pass us by and to ALWAYS make sure that those people around us KNOW that we love them.

Today on the blog read about this tradition and see step by step pictures to show your love to your whole…

Preschool Readiness

Shifting from preschool to kindergarten can be disturbing for some parents. You’ll want to make sure that your child is ready to make this transition before enrolling him.

‘How do I know if my child is ready for Kindergarten?’ this would be you first question with yourself on this occasion.

As no two children are the same, no child’s aptitude will be measured against that of another. There is no formula, no chart; there is, however, a set of guiding principles…

More or Less?

The biggest challenge and struggle in my life right now is not letting my work mess with my head.

I am working full time and although the job in itself would not be that bad, the environment and people make it the wickedest experience. Quite often I ask myself it this all worth it?

Life has evolved in such a way that it’s become a chore. Is the purpose really to spend our life laboring away, (contributing to) producing a surplus of products/services…

Rainy Day Activites for Kids

Summer officially started 17 days ago and 15 of them have been rainy ones here in NW Ohio. Our grass has never looked greener and our garden is flourishing however the kiddos are a tad disappointed at the lack of pool days. I am not sure when all this rain is going to let up. I decided that I need to do something. My first thought was build an Ark but that seemed too tedious a task. My second was to collate fun rainy day activities to do with kiddos. Here’s hoping my focus is on the…

My Simple Yet Sweet Mother’s Day Surprise

Mom’s aren’t supposed to get sick!  I wish it was true but even germs and icky critters take us down for the count.  Over the weekend, my husband finally convinced me to go see a doctor when I told him that I woke up around 4 AM on Saturday morning with a pounding headache.  It wasn’t your typical headache,…

Happy Mother’s Day – Please Come Share What You Love About Being A Mom?

I remember when I was pregnant with my very first baby in 1996 and on Mother’s Day that year, it dawned on me that I was going to be a mom later than year.  I was excited, scared, and nervous at the same time.  If you are a mom, I am sure that you can relate to all of those feelings.  It is scary to think that you will be responsible for a tiny human being and that you have…

The Fast Metabolism Diet Experience

Day 1 (April 29, 2013): I started the morning excited. I made my strawberry smoothie, following the recipe to the 'T', but after the blender stopped blending and the time came for me to put my smoothie into a cup, I realized the size of my drink was a lot smaller than what I was expecting. Goodness, so the drinks sold at restaurants must be 4 servings in one.…

Remember Cross Country USA and other old games?

For years I have been thinking about the games I used to play in elementary school. The games were grainy, and kind of slow...but that didn't matter because they were still so much fun. Then fast forward to today, I saw my brother in law watching a game on his Ipad and it wasn't until I saw a triangle appear on the screen that I realized he wasn't watching a game, he was playing a game. Technology has come so far! Our children…
