Show the LOVE - A countdown to Valentine's Day

love that February is a month that we really have the opportunity to tell our families how much we truly love them. I think throughout the year we get busy going and doing, that we don’t pause very often to tell each person how we feel. This past year, I have learned to NEVER let a minute pass us by and to ALWAYS make sure that those people around us KNOW that we love them.

Today on the blog read about this tradition and see step by step pictures to show your love to your whole…

DIY: All Natural Lip Balm

During this time of year I have the most agonizing fight against dry skin. I don't create much oil on my own...Lucky you say? Not in the least. Skin types such as mine tend to get wrinkles earlier in age. I can slather on lotions but the artificial ingredients irritate me and break me out. I admit I havent really given hypoallergenic products a chance yet and very much intend to.

Ive started looking into creating my own skin care and would like to share some…

DIY Valentine's Day Nails

http://www.thepiggytoes.com/2013/02/11/diy-valentines-day-nails/

Oh my.  Valentine’s Day is this week and I am very very pregnant with not much energy by the end of the day to do much.  We plan to stay home with our 2 little boys, cook a comforting dinner (bc it’s cold outside!), eat chocolate (that’s a given) and well, just love on each other…

Cleaning 101: Microfiber Furniture

Cleaning 101: Microfiber Furniture

We have had our chair for just little over 3 years. We bought it when I was pregnant with our son. My hubby named it my preggo chair. So for a few hours today I sacrificed my preggo chair just to clean it.

If you have never cleaned your microfiber furniture before, don't be scared. Just don't use water because it will leave water marks behind.

Here is what my chair…

V-Day Shirt Project

Yes, this V-day craft is about a week late, but in my defense, I had it completed on the day.

This is a project that has been going around. I found it in Family Fun Magazine and decided to expound on the theme.

I mentioned in an earlier post that I found some $2 shirts on my thrift shopping adventure.…

Mom-Zombies Wear Aprons

I have a lot of things in my house that serve no purpose.I have them simply because I can. They might have been a good bargain or a well intentioned gift, but they serve no purpose in my life. Bath loofahs are a good example. I probably have 10, am always acquiring more, but never-ever use them.

I can take little credit for the meals which are prepared in our house. My husband is chef. I am cooking-assistant (yes, that’s what he really calls me). I peel potatoes, chop onions, boil…

Charm Packs, Jelly Rolls & Batting

I signed up for a beginners quilt class at Quilters Quarters. Sadly, the class doesn't start until the middle of October. If you asked, my friends and family would tell you that there is no way I can wait until October. I am both compulsive and impatient when I want to start a new project. So this morning, as everyone fully expected, I went in search of some fabric so I can get a proper "head start".…

Making Contact...Again

By the end of the month, my girls look shaggy. Not shabby, mind you. Just a bit more unkempt. That one spot that always gets a tangle every.single.day. remains tangled. Hair is in their eyes. Bothering them. And unknowingly bothering me too.

And shaggy is all good. I'm into it...to a degree. But what… Continue

Got my craft on today! My nes crocheted headband

First off I would like to say that this wonderful project was not my own creation. Nope.  I went Stumbling around a few nights ago and found a great tutorial on how to make a crocheted headband.

I am not a great crocheter (is that a word?). I learned how to crochet in High School from a friend.  She was able to teach me even though I am left handed. And she taught me how to crochet like a righty.  Yay for being… Continue

My Stella and Dot knock-off bracelet, with a tutorial

I haven't done a crafty project in a while, and I thought, "It's about time you did one, people are getting bored over here."

So here goes... my first attempt to make my own jewelry. (Other than that one time I thought I was cool in 8th grade and made myself a button bracelet. Haha. I was lame.)

I have been lusting over this bracelet from…
