Quiet Activity Idea: Felt Alphabet

We generally struggle to find activities that will occupy the kids during church services on Sunday.  I lug a large tote bag filled with different items each week and pray that we can keep them entertained enough for me to actually listen during the meeting.…

"Hunt"ing for Camp Runamuk fun!

Last Friday was the last day of Camp Runamuk (the affectionate name we call life at my house when the kids are off school and fun is involved) and I decided to host the First Annual Dugdale Trifecta Easter Egg Hunt.

Here’s what you get when you have 4 mommies + 14 kids + 225 eggs + 12 tons of sugar =

1)      Sometimes even the snails want some chocolate!  The eggs had been out for literally 10 minutes, and we had an attempted robber!
2)      If…

"How many of these kids are actually yours?!"

. . . was the question from the Dish Network installer at my house today as we were entertaining 14 yes, I said FOURTEEN, children.

Today we had Camp Runamuk, Day 2 – Gettin’ Dirty.  We made “mud” cupcakes, bird houses, paper butterflies and mommy made a sad attempt at a cardboard boomerang . . .

. . . and here’s what we learned:

1)      Bribing the children with Fun Dip for breakfast will ensure that they get their rooms clean in no…

I can’t believe that Easter is right around the corner.  I am always looking for fun things to make with my son and while at the grocery store last weekend I saw all the marshmallow peeps!  You know the cute little marshmallow candies in the shape of little chicks covered in colorful sugar.  Well now they make them covered in chocolate!  Since we love marshmallow peeps and I have tons of chocolate chips at home I thought my son and I could make our own chocolate covered marshmallow…

Weeknight Meal: Easy Baked Ziti

One of our favorite weeknight meals is Baked Ziti.  My husband spent two years in Italy. He claims to know Italian food and has given it his stamp of approval. I'll take that.

Baked Ziti is a grand departure from the pasta meals of my childhood.  I…

Experimenting with Brooches

5 Minute Craft: Peek-a-boo Puppet

My daughter is obsessed with baby dolls.  She is so obsessed with receiving baby dolls as gifts, that she thinks that every present she receives (or anyone else for that matter) is going to contain a doll. Life can be disappointing sometimes. Especially when a prettily wrapped present does not contain a baby.

This is why I thought she'd get a kick out of this 5 minute craft that I whipped together during nap time.  What I put together was really intended to be a prototype, but it…

Ridiculously Easy: Apple and Yogurt Salad

This is a quick, easy, fresh and tasty side dish that you can add to almost any meal. Perhaps this is even too simplistic to blog about, but it is one of my favorite salads (and apparently a favorite with my nieces and nephews as well) so I decided that I'd get it out there.

What…

Loving Bright Lips!

I used to be a predominately smokey eye, nude lip gal until one of my girlfriends recently gave me MAC Ruby Woo (retro, pin-up matte blue red).  This one lipstick certainly changed my entire look and I have not been able to go back to the smokey eye, nude lip since.  At first application, I thought Whoa~~~ this is so bright how will I ever wear it?  But then I tried it again and felt Yes!...I can wear this…

DIY Halloween for the Non-Crafty Person

I will be the first to admit that Halloween is probably my least favorite festivity. But that does not mean I am a party pooper. Au contraire! With two young girls in the house, I have to keep my ghoulish spirits up during this time of year.

And although I can’t say either that I am a very crafty person, I do like to do fun projects with my girls who love being creative. So, this year I searched for a few simple things for us to do together and I came up with some great…
