Ahhhhh Sunday. I needed Sunday. We went to church in the morning and then I took a little Sunday drive by myself while the boys (all 3 of them) napped. I listened to music, sipped a soy latte and cleared my head. It was refreshing after all of my stressful ob-gyn stuff. I’m still stressed about…Continue

I threw this crock-pot together last minute after pre-school and it turned out great! Though the colors in the picture are kind of ‘boring’… the flavor of this dish are NOT! Our boys loved it; and it was even more delicious over Creamy Parmesan Rice! I also steamed their fav veggie- edamame! Wonder why the love edamame? ; ) Its playful and kid friendly – so fun to ‘pop’! Lastly, I didn’t want to take the time to brown the chicken like the directions say, so I literally threw every last…Continue

Our schedule has been insane this week and the only down-time we’ve had is nap-time. The rest of the day; morning, afternoon and evening has been filled with pre-school, kids play-dates/Christmas parties, a company Christmas party and a few other night time events too! Brian said to me last night,
“How about a movie night and early bed-time on Friday?“
I will never turn that down; sounds perfect! I declined an invite to a Cookie Exchange…Continue

Find this recipe at: http://www.thepiggytoes.com/2012/11/08/turkey-and-beef-chili/
The last time I attempted to make a pot of Chili, it was so spicy that no one could eat it except for my dear hubby. I could only down a tiny bowl and it was a total bust. I’d venture to say that not many taste testers could’ve handled the heat. Why so hot? Well, I met a can of Adobo…Continue

We generally struggle to find activities that will occupy the kids during church services on Sunday. I lug a large tote bag filled with different items each week and pray that we can keep them entertained enough for me to actually listen during the meeting.…Continue

I can’t believe that Easter is right around the corner. I am always looking for fun things to make with my son and while at the grocery store last weekend I saw all the marshmallow peeps! You know the cute little marshmallow candies in the shape of little chicks covered in colorful sugar. Well now they make them covered in chocolate! Since we love marshmallow peeps and I have tons of chocolate chips at home I thought my son and I could make our own chocolate covered marshmallow…Continue

One of our favorite weeknight meals is Baked Ziti. My husband spent two years in Italy. He claims to know Italian food and has given it his stamp of approval. I'll take that.
Baked Ziti is a grand departure from the pasta meals of my childhood. I…

My daughter is obsessed with baby dolls. She is so obsessed with receiving baby dolls as gifts, that she thinks that every present she receives (or anyone else for that matter) is going to contain a doll. Life can be disappointing sometimes. Especially when a prettily wrapped present does not contain a baby.
This is why I thought she'd get a kick out of this 5 minute craft that I whipped together during nap time. What I put together was really intended to be a prototype, but it…

This is a quick, easy, fresh and tasty side dish that you can add to almost any meal. Perhaps this is even too simplistic to blog about, but it is one of my favorite salads (and apparently a favorite with my nieces and nephews as well) so I decided that I'd get it out there.
