Happy Easter from Uplifting Families!
Easter Sunday is an important holiday and is a day of celebration. It is the day that of our Savior “Jesus Christ” returns from the dead. He was resurrected three days after he died and he was placed into the tomb which was heavily guarded. Easter is celebrated on Pentecost Sunday, which is the Sunday following Holy Week. Many people attend church and spend time with their families on Easter Sunday. Easter does not fall on a particular… Continue

It’s the little things in life that make us happy, right? Like the perspective of successfully poaching egg without having a nervous breakdown in the making of it (i.e. achieving that elusive balance of having the egg white set and the yolk still runny).
And, I mean the real poaching, in boiling water, not the cheating kind with all the chichi non-stick poaching skillets and other similar electric versions. I’m going to buy a specialized skillet just to make my occasional Eggs Benedict?… Continue

Chickens were a fleeting dream I had a few years ago.
We were living in Berkeley, California, a full-blown suburban city, when we first began our new phase of life with kids. We lived in a little flat there near the highway. My husband rode his skate board to work and I walked E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E. (Oh do I miss those parks. There were green, grassy parks and playgrounds literally every 6 blocks there.) And my natural-outdoorsy minded self simply dreamed of a little bit of land to care… Continue

Here we have a perfect example of how certain food products get labeled unhealthy, when all the while they are extremely healthy. Many people mistakenly think that the egg yolk is bad for you and usually discard them. Wrong. The egg yolk is the healthiest part of the egg with huge nutritional value and properties that help with shedding pounds.… Continue

What are your plans for Easter weekend?
Last year we had all 5 of the kids and I took them to a local egg hunt. My hubby worked 7 days a week then (at his last job) and couldn’t go with me, but I was able to talk my mom into going to help out with the kids. It wouldn’t have been too difficult by myself, but since my son was just a year and a half he needed most of the attention. They split the area up into sections for different age groups and have games and little booths for… Continue

This blog isn't about my usual businesses. Goodness knows I need to promote them, rather about a favorite holiday. Although I haven't decorated. I am eating hard boiled eggs however....the girls decorated them. Nothing fancy, just the paas Easter egg kit, and yes we are already eating them. Do you have an Easter tradition? Share it! What else other than hiding Easter baskets. I will probably go out tonight and get some things for the girls. I tried to get the girls skates but hubby said walmart… Continue

The Carrot, the egg, and the coffee
A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee...You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again.
A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up, she was tired of fighting and struggling. It… Continue
