Why I Decided To Dress up for my 40th Birthday and Where I shopped for the perfect Costume

I know… I know. Last year, I said I was done. I said that I was going to put all this costume stuff to rest, after I dressed up as the Nutcracker, for my son’s Christmas lunch and I was the only parent to do so. I thought I put the nail in the coffin when I did it, as I thought to myself, it may be time to close that book.

However, my son’s response to the DIY costume was priceless. Together, in the past, we have also done Captain America, American Dream, Spider- Man/Woman, Black…

Where to save money on your vacation

I had an amazing time with my family on vacation last week: We had periods of adventurous fun and some downtime to just read and relax. It was a mix of everything to appeal to everyone. Some of our time was spent on paid excursions, and I didn't wonder at any point if they were worth the money: They were all super fun and I loved doing them.…

How To Make More Time For Your Kids

There are a lot of parents who would think that a ride to school, or watching an hour of TV with their kids would count as “quality” time and would be enough. With today's hectic lifestyle most parents lead, trying to be at two places at once, balancing between their jobs, caring for their children, doing the house chores, and so on, time has really become a precious commodity. A commodity that at some point will inevitably begin to elude each and…

Entertainment As An Effective Tool

The entertainment has already spread its root in the global trade and commerce activities. The main theme within the global entertainment is to uplift the domestic trade forms to international standards by adhering to the global standards. Why I'm OK with death in children's movies

At first it is disturbing: Cinderella, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, Finding Nemo, The Little Mermaid...no mothers. Most people notice the trend of parents (especially mothers) dying in children's movies when they introduce the classics to their children.…

The movies we watch

I have a confession to make: I really can't watch the movie Planes again. Or Cars. I've seen those movies way too many times. And, seeing as how I didn't really enjoy them the first time, each subsequent viewing has torn away a piece of my sanity.

But they are my son's favorite movies. And…

And the World Sighed and Hurt a Little More

Yesterday when news of Robin Williams' death popped up in my feed I felt an incredible emptiness in my core. Despite the fact that I usually hold this kind of sadness for those closest to me, those I knew in real life, there's a deep anguish that feels like a web of energy amplified by the mere existance of 'movies' and 'internet,' of places like 'facebook' where each of my friends and acquiantences is sharing the moment to acknowledge the loss and power of one amazing individual. One person…

Has THIS ever happened to YOU? OH! You must be MARRIED!

If the roll is empty, change it. If it looks like it might be getting empty, change it. If you think that there may even be a remote chance that there are only two squares left, grab a new roll and (wait for it)... CHANGE it!

There's nothing quite like reaching over to find an empty roll of toilet paper after you've finished doing your business; but somehow it happens,…

Entertain with Technology

It is terrific to find ways to use existing technology for entertainment.

Like many people who read this blog, I am a technology nut. I have the cell phone, the Kindle tablet, the Kindle reader, the laptop and a bunch of other gadgets. I really like  my gadgets and do not plan to give them up. What I enjoy more than just having gadgets is getting the most entertainment I can out of them.

Take my notebook computer for example. I use it to write my blog, run my business and…

Christmas Greetings And A Farewell...

Tomorrow is Christmas Day... and wishes of Merry Christmas and Happy New Year has been "flying" here and there in Facebook, in blog posts, Sms-es, telephone calls... and from colleagues, friends and family...

So how are you celebrating your Christmas today?  Tomorrow? As for me, going to church is something quite sombre tomorrow morning... no, it is not about the Christmas sermon... the sad news is that my Pastor will be making his last appearance in my church tomorrow and he will…

My Gift To Myself...

My Gift To Myself

Well, Christmas is not only about giving and receiving.. It is also about remembering how our good Lord sacrifices himself to save mankind... we are all precious in His eyes, right? Praise The Lord... And besides these points, I also want to remember Christmas by "pampering" myself with a gift I need for my own use... heheheee...

After receiving…

Halloween And Pumpkins

I thought today is Halloween but I was mistaken, it was yesterday... During my younger days, it was not as popular as it is today, maybe those days we were not so "exposed" but nowadays, the youth of today are having fun disguising as "terror" as much as possible...

And what is Halloween actually?  I went to Mr. Google to find out more and here is an extract from one of the websites....

Halloween originated as a pagan festival in parts of Northern Europe, particularly…
