Health: Tone It Up

Starting this year one of my resolutions is to bebsnd stay in shape. Now I know I could say I'll work out everyday but with caring care of LJ that just isn't going to happen. If it does some weeks great but if not oh well but my resolution is that it has to be at least 3 times a week.

So i was looking at different ways to get my exercise in either in the morning, nap time or after little msn is in bed. So my friend told me about tone it up. One of course the girls on the page or… Continue

Hello Peace... Welcome Back...

There was a time when I felt like my life was turned upside down. I had so many obstacles coming in my direction at one time: divorce, single parent to a toddler, increased bills and less money, bankrupt business, loss of a close friendship... Wow, that takes energy just thinking about it and when all of this came crashing at me at once, I completely lost balance and damn near my sanity.

These life experiences have taught me that we all have to go through obstacles in life, but the effects… Continue

Anyone tried Meizitang Botanical Slimming diet...? I just did (read my experience...)

Hey Ladies!

So I recently discovered Meizitang Botanical Slimming. It's a simple slimming diet, very popular in Texas and Mexico.

I felt like trying it out. So I was price hunting for 2 WHOLE days,

until I found it at the lowest price around $11-12 at slimeast.com,

the price reduces depending how much boxes you buy (ex. if you buy 10

boxes, it's 7.80 each, and so on.) They sell internationally, so… Continue

Om Is Where My Heart Is

A few weeks ago I confessed that I was "downward dogging it". Months had passed since I last attended yoga class and my body, mind and spirit were beginning to feel the ill effects.

Downward Dogging It

I started practicing yoga about three years ago when I was pregnant with my little girl. It was love at first breath. What other exercise allows for a ten minute rest time (Savasana)? To be forced to relax for ten minutes is the best thing ever!

Unfortunately, I have fallen off the yoga-love wagon.

THINKING POSITIVE TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS

The most important thing is not to allow negative comments to get in our way. If someone tells us we can’t do it or makes us feel bad, we often feel defeated. We need to empower ourselves. Nobody else can do it. Think about the life you want to lead once you reach your goal. One good way to achieve this is to write down your reasons behind your desire to lose weight. Stick the list on the wall so that you can see it every day. When a negative thought pops up, replace it with a positive one. For… Continue

Psychology and Feng Shui in Romantic Relationships

Hi Moms,

Many people believe therapy is about resolving a crisis or healing a traumatic past and while these are worthy goals indeed, good therapy is also like good feng shui, because it is about exploring and making our noble intentions conscious and meaningful.

Balancing Yin and Yang energies in our romantic relationships is imperative. Think about balance within the context of our feeling afraid that the relationship with our significant lover will end because our mate will… Continue

Tuesday Thoughts | Ahem...Exercise

I remember when I found out I was pregnant with baby #3. Yahoo! Wonderful. So excited.

Oh, the commitments to myself. ‘Boy, this time I’m going to stay on top of things. I’m going to do plenty of exercise. Eat healthy. Lots of rest.’ You see, pregnancy #2 was full of rich, dairy cravings,

and with my first child just turning one, our walks were just about as

fast as a snail’s pace at that time. Not super-fat-blasting, if you know

what I…

Addiction Recovery With Exercise

Whether you are addicted to alcohol, street drugs, prescription drugs, gambling, food, or nicotine, the neurological pattern that develops is the same. The reward center in your brain is underactive, and it takes more in life to tell that part of your brain that you're having a good time. Nothing but the addiction seems to satisfy that reward center, and the brain is tricked into thinking that the addiction is necessary for survival.

Quick bursts of exercise at 70-80% of one's… Continue

The Two Best IQ Boosters for Kids

New research is showing us fascinating information about the brain. We are now learning that we can form new brain cells at nearly any age with physical exercise, and that exercising before class can significantly boost learning capacity by spawning new brain cells. Learning new information immediately following aerobic exercise fills the new cells with information.

The new neural pathways formed during exercise are like new railroad tracks in our brains. If we don't use them, we… Continue

Do These Things To Live Longer

I love it when a “new study” republishes old information. This just in: four behaviors are correlated with longevity. The behaviors studied happen to be physical exercise, nutrition, alcohol use, and tobacco use.

This is old news. There’s such a stockpile of research on the topic already that we now know that 85% of our longevity is tied to our lifestyle behaviors. Your choices usually determine whether or not you’ll live to see your great grandchildren, not necessarily your genes.… Continue
