Finding Time to Fit in Exercise

Want to start exercising but feel you don’t have the time?  Are you overwhelmedClock  with work, family, cleaning, errands and other commitments?  Taking care of a family and running a household is very demanding, whether you work outside the home or not.  There is so much going on that we run out of time before we can fit in exercise.

The first thing to do is determine where you are spending all your time.  Keep a time log for a few days to a…

How to Lose that Muffin Top! Spring has sprung- not your waistlines too!

How ironic that I awoke to the beauty of snow - covered trees this very a.m. as today marks the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. What is even more odd is that on this very date, thirteen years ago, flakes fell from the sky on my wedding day in New York City. This is “snow joke.”

Dare I mention that bathing suit season is around the corner? This gives us harried moms three short months to…

Workout Gear to Fancy this Spring

Finally, days are getting longer and, though I hate the feeling of losing an hour, Daylight Savings time (March 13) means that there will be light when working out in the wee hours of the morning. Just enough to make those early bird workouts somewhat less painful. So, if like me, you are looking forward to hitting the pavement instead of the treadmill, we thought that you would enjoy these particular finds:…

The Fitbug - Motivation in my Pocket

I do enjoy my workouts… the second they are over. Granted, there is a definite sense of pride and “I did good for my body today” feeling that follows a good workout. But somehow, that sense of achievement holds no reserve to motivate me for any subsequent workout. I’m on my own. Left to my own device, I would probably never exercise. And really, I only workout because I have to. I wish that I were one of those that could get lost in the endorphin…

Unbalanced

I am unbalanced. Not according to my therapist, or my husband…but according to my Wii. Like most, I started out with a goal for the year, not a resolution, but a goal to be healthier. I know it is a broad goal, but it’s vague enough that if I fail, I have no accountability.

How To Lose Weight

Overweight Americans and childhood obesity have become a huge problem in recent years. With this awareness, many people are looking for ways on how to lose weight. A few important things to remember:

Writing down what you eat is one basic principle to weight loss and maintaining a diet. A second principle to healthy weight loss is to read the food labels. Make sure your grocery items include a lot of fiber and little fat, in other words stock up on lots of vegetables, fruits, peas,… Continue

Health: Tone It Up

Starting this year one of my resolutions is to bebsnd stay in shape. Now I know I could say I'll work out everyday but with caring care of LJ that just isn't going to happen. If it does some weeks great but if not oh well but my resolution is that it has to be at least 3 times a week.

So i was looking at different ways to get my exercise in either in the morning, nap time or after little msn is in bed. So my friend told me about tone it up. One of course the girls on the page or… Continue

Hello Peace... Welcome Back...

There was a time when I felt like my life was turned upside down. I had so many obstacles coming in my direction at one time: divorce, single parent to a toddler, increased bills and less money, bankrupt business, loss of a close friendship... Wow, that takes energy just thinking about it and when all of this came crashing at me at once, I completely lost balance and damn near my sanity.

These life experiences have taught me that we all have to go through obstacles in life, but the effects… Continue

Anyone tried Meizitang Botanical Slimming diet...? I just did (read my experience...)

Hey Ladies!

So I recently discovered Meizitang Botanical Slimming. It's a simple slimming diet, very popular in Texas and Mexico.

I felt like trying it out. So I was price hunting for 2 WHOLE days,

until I found it at the lowest price around $11-12 at slimeast.com,

the price reduces depending how much boxes you buy (ex. if you buy 10

boxes, it's 7.80 each, and so on.) They sell internationally, so… Continue

Om Is Where My Heart Is

A few weeks ago I confessed that I was "downward dogging it". Months had passed since I last attended yoga class and my body, mind and spirit were beginning to feel the ill effects.

Downward Dogging It

I started practicing yoga about three years ago when I was pregnant with my little girl. It was love at first breath. What other exercise allows for a ten minute rest time (Savasana)? To be forced to relax for ten minutes is the best thing ever!

Unfortunately, I have fallen off the yoga-love wagon.

THINKING POSITIVE TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS

The most important thing is not to allow negative comments to get in our way. If someone tells us we can’t do it or makes us feel bad, we often feel defeated. We need to empower ourselves. Nobody else can do it. Think about the life you want to lead once you reach your goal. One good way to achieve this is to write down your reasons behind your desire to lose weight. Stick the list on the wall so that you can see it every day. When a negative thought pops up, replace it with a positive one. For… Continue
