Planning Ahead, Birthday Edition

Trying to plan a birthday party with 3 kids running around is rough. Today, I am sharing my planning methods that help me to be stress free and enjoy the planning process!

My daughter is turning 5 this December. I plan birthday parties months ahead of time because I get everything  done without worrying about spending too much all at once, not finding certain decorations or anything I need at our local stores, making sure I order what I need with enough time to get here and send back…

** Winter is officially "over" -- and I'll believe it when I see it.

** The Tooth Fairy's gonna have to start leaving IOU's if my twins don't go to bed earlier at night.…

Wrapping it Up

I cannot be the only one…who managed to fit in at least two weeks worth of work, chores, holiday to do’s, and family drama all in one week. I am not sad to see last week go, but before I kick it on it’s backside on the way out, I offer you this weekly wrap up.

In a mad dash to finish all of my holiday gift shopping, I made the foolish decision to visit the Downtown Disney shopping mall, my good intentions turned sour when I spent forty-five minutes being waved through overcrowded…

My son's letter to the Tooth Fairy!

Yesterday my son lost a tooth. This was a shock because he lost four of his teeth really early (at 4 years old), then all his other teeth got comfortable. In the morning he mentioned his tooth was shaking a bit and by the time my husband and I got back home after grocery shopping we were told it was waiting for us on the counter. I asked him what he plans to do with it and he told me my mom gave him a quarter. So I told him…

Tooth Fairy Fail

If I could take myself into a dark alley and kick my own ass, I totally would cause I seriously dropped the parenting ball the other night (once again).  Yes, I completely failed my duty as the Tooth Fairy, y'all.  Now I know that plenty of people have said that they, too, have forgotten a tooth here and there, but I swore that I would never…

Things I've Learned This Week

** It's kind of disturbing to hear your nine year old sing about having someone blow his whistle.  (Yeah, thanks, Flo Rida.)

** I'm beyond thankful I'm not married to a politician.

** Fun-size 3 Musketeers are downright dangerous.

** My ass is gonna beep when I back up if I don't amp up my workout routine again…

DIY Special Tooth Fairy Pillow

DIY Special Tooth Fairy Pillow

When my son unexpectedly lost his first tooth, I panicked. He did not have a tooth fairy pillow. He was adamant that he should have one from the stories of his classmates. He was not going to sleep that night if he didn't have one. And that meant I was not going to…

The Tooth Fairy will be Coming Soon

The Tooth Fairy Will be Coming Soon!

On Friday Luke and Matt were eating apples.  Matt said "Ow, my teeth hurt!"

Uh-oh, I thought, he's finally going to lose a tooth!  As it turns out, BOTH bottom front teeth are loose and as I looked into his mouth I saw *gasp* that his big teeth are already growing in…

Things I've Learned This Week

** A successful night is when the Tooth Fairy remembers to do her duty AND even has change for a twenty!  Holla!

** Nine year olds evidently need to be reminded not to stick jelly beans up their noses.

** It's amazing how a closed bathroom door means nothing to my kids until they're the ones behind it.

** I like road trips…

Things I've Learned This Week

_________________________________________________________________

** Sometimes turds just don't want to be flushed.

** I really really heart selling jewelry.

** It's a terribly bad idea to enter a bakery when you're starving.

A Tooth Fairy Called Wanda

As a parent, I'm trying REALLY hard to hold onto the whole believing in the Tooth Fairy thing for as long as is humanly possible.  So when a kid's tooth falls out in this house?  Well, I wanna be on top of that shit like white on rice.  Unfortunately, however, I'm not always totally prepared for the curve balls that motherhood sometimes throws my…

Do you see the Halloween Fairy? If not, you should

Do you see the Halloween Fairy? If not, you should. Thanks to my wonderfully clever husband, the Halloween fairy comes to our home The boys pick out 10 pieces of candy, then they leave it out on the table for her. She then slips into the house, takes their candy and leaves $5 in it’s place. She is much like the Tooth Fairy. But then again, we tend to explain and blame everything on the fairies. Poor fairies, they get a bad rap sometimes around here.

Shhhhhh.. don’t tell my kids…

Baby Cinderella

Once upon a time,

not so long ago,

a little Roman princess was born in a small family with two dogs and a lot closets full of high heels shoes.

She was kind of happy when she found out that her brand new family was a real mess.

They had a lot to learn about her.

So did she about them, anyway.

My Husband Married The Tooth Fairy

I’m not just another ordinary Tooth Fairy. I don’t just slip cash under kids' pillows. I also pull teeth. My kids' teeth and even their friends' teeth. Moms love this, as I save them a small fortune in dentist bills.

I come from a long line of tooth pulling Tooth Fairies. And I can say with great pride, my mother…
