Things I've Learned This Week

** Surprisingly, a quiet house kinda creeps me out.

** Mother Nature is a ruthless Bitch with a capital "B".

** "The Great Gatsby" was unfortunately not all that great.

** I would get lost inside a cardboard box.  (No, seriously, how do I get out of this thing?)

** Grown men fighting in a bar is the…

Rascal and His Girlfriend Had a Party In My Living Room

When I went to bed last night, Rascal was heading back to the North Pole to visit Santa Claus and give him a report on how the kids are doing.  When Rascal returned home early this morning, he decided to throw a party in the living room with his girlfriend.  He found a perfect chair for them to sit in and he placed it in front of the television.

For the rest of the story and photos of Rascal's party please visit…

Rascal and His Friends Got into a Huge Snowball Fight Last Night

While we were sleeping last night, I heard some commotion early this morning coming from my kitchen.  I didn’t think anything about it because we have two dogs and they make noise sometimes at night.

What will Rascal do next?

Wonderful Wednesday - Wise Words from Another - Clause McKay

Wonderful Wednesday - it is wonderful to stand tall and proud in the face of unfair opposition.

In this entry we are continuing the Wonderful Wednesday - Wonderful Words from Other series. Today I am going to share Claude McKay's "If We Must Die." As a young child, I remember wanting to be a black panther. I liked the idea of fighting against oppression and making the world a better place for my people. My career as a panther was cut short before it even began. I…

Fighting Feelings

"The only way to fight a feeling is with a feeling." Rolin McCraty

I ran across this statement while reading One Thousand Gifts over the last two weeks. It stopped me in my tracks.

Feelings run so rampant these days. Look around our neighborhoods, schools, the television, etc. You'll see feeling not only in word, but in action as well.

What if we were to truly live out the statement McCraty gives us? Replacing anger with love, disappointment with contentment, anxiety…

My Friday Was Eventful

This past Friday we get a knock on our door around dinner time. We were about to head out for dinner and were surprised that someone was there. We live outside of the city limits, but still within a neighborhood. There isn’t any trash collection (let alone for recycling) or any other “city duties” where we live, but we can shoot our pistols and burn shit so it evens out. The only visitors we get are the neighborhood girl scouts selling cookies or the volunteer fire department requesting…

The Nerve! Fighting back against rude people everywhere!

The rudeness of people never ceases to amaze me. There you are . . . just going about your day-to-day life, when someone does something or says something just downright rude. The nerve! When this happens to me, I'm usually so stunned by their audacity that I cannot think of a reply until moments, even days later when I realize, after careful consideration of how this person affected my life, invaded my personal space, and (sometimes) even triggered a tear or two.

I was brought up to… Continue

Tyler, my 6 year old is back at home

Let me tell all divorced parents that have little ones and crazy ex-spouses. Get a lawyer, document everything, and be careful how you present yourself.

I just got my daughter, Tyler, six-years old, back this past Sunday. If your ex and/or the new spouse is a bully, fight smart and be pre-pared for anything.

If your ex-, is a millionaire, tax evader and fraud recording artist and pastor like mine, get a lawyer and pre-pare to fight. If you don't have money to fight, find… Continue

From the files of what not to post on YouTube and how to NOT raise your toddlers.

Recently, YouTube pulled a video over public outrage. The video featured two toddlers beating the heck out of one another. The person filming it was a father of one of the toddlers.

This gets worse, according to media reports, he was a soldier in the Army Special Operations Command. The video, thank goodness is being investigated because it was made at Fort Bragg.

As outrageous as this may seem, this is obviously not the first video of it's kind to pop up on… Continue
