Fun Ways To Determine Your Baby’s Gender – Am I Having A Boy or A Girl?

From the moment I found out that I was expecting with each one of my children, I couldn’t wait until I was able to have ultrasound done during the later half of the second trimester so that I could find out the gender of my baby.  In fact, I have figured out how some couples or moms can make it through their entire pregnancy not knowing the sex on the…

Basic Essential Baby Items: 16 Baby Items that You Need to Care for a Newborn

Babies will never judge their parents for the amount of stuff that they had when they were little or didn’t have when they were babies.  In fact, most babies only need a few basic necessities in order to be adequately cared for and they don’t need a bunch of fancy things.  A baby will use most of their baby gear for a short period of time and they quickly grow out of it.  If you are expecting and have a limited budget, I would recommend that parents buy or register for the following…

Moment by Moment

What follows is some serious soul-searching interspersed with cute pictures of my kids. Bear with me.

I feel ashamed to admit how often I lose my cool around my children.  In all honesty, not losing my cool at least once during the day is a rare exception. Not only do these kids know a great deal about how to push my buttons, but they are also extremely irrational. The combo of the two is a sure fire way to bring out what I call "Mean Mommy."…

Meditative Injuries

If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know I’ve been struggling to find balance in my life. Last October, I made a solo trip to an Arizona spa for four days in order to reclaim myself. I spent the majority of my trip learning how to meditate and how the practice could enhance my life. Like any A-type personality, I took notes and attempted to schedule my day around meditation. If you have seen Julia Roberts in Eat Pray…

Reality returns, and it's making me jittery

I think the last thing to go back into storage was the "Cookies for Santa" plate.

Tomorrow the kids go back to school, and I go back to work. Holidays are over, and reality returns. I'm not sure I'm ready. In fact, I have that unsettled, nervous feeling in my stomach - the one I used to get on Sunday nights when I knew I had a test Monday morning.

I don't have any exams tomorrow. I guess handling the morning routine will be a test in itself - seeing if I can get two sleepy kids…

THERE AIN'T NO MANUAL FOR MOTHERHOOD!

There is no manual that pops out with the baby that tells you exactly how to raise a child.  So what do we do? We ask friends, family or buy books.  The problem with that is we are getting advice from someone else's experiences based on their own environment, family dynamic, genetics, issues or talents.  We need to find out who WE are first and then raising a child will be easy.  How do we do that?  The only way to find answers is to ask questions.

The glitch is that we need to be…

Reclaiming Self

Lately, I have really been trying to be mindful, and have a mind-body connection because I feel disconnected inside. Logically I know stress can kill, but I put so much of myself into others, most days I often run on empty.…

How to Overcome Writer's Block

This morning I spent a couple hours banging my head on my desk trying to push out a sales page that just didn't want to come. I've written plenty of sales letters in my day and they usually flow easily and just about effortlessly. This one just wouldn't cooperate.

The more frustrated I got the less inspired I was, the harder it was to get anything done.

So I did what I always do... left. Yep, there's no point in trying to push a square peg through a round hole. Sometimes… Continue
