As a mom of 2 boys, I’ve put together 2 construction parties to date! The first party was for Rocco’s 1st birthday and it was a huge bash with family & friends from near and far. The second construction party was for Roman’s 3rd birthday and it was a much smaller…Continue

By the time we left 1Utama, it was almost 6pm... the best meal of the day had arrived... DINNER! My friend had made plans to take us to a special meal in Klang, one open air restaurant called Bubur Goreng (Fried Porridge Restaurant)... This is the first time I heard of this and I wonder what was in store for us...…Continue

I received the Baby Bullet as a gift! I do believe that the product is worth the money but if you have a blender or a food processor then you can read the following information about How To and make your own baby food. You will want to purchase some freezable containers for the food that you can find at Babies R Us. These will have a measure on them so that you can make the right portion amounts ahead of time and always have fresh baby food on…Continue

Terrific Tuesday - it is terrific to know solving hunger problems can help you solve life problems.
Today is is World Food day! That means it is a day set aside in order to make people aware of food challenges faced by people around the world. Oxfam has created a GROW campaign to help people who actually care about hunger issues do something to help. The lesson I learned from the Oxfam Grow campaign is that the lessons we learn about food and stopping…

This cool autumn weather has had me craving hearty soups and stews lately-you name the soup or stew and I've been craving it (or is it a pregnancy thing?!). To prove that fact, in the last 4 days I've made chicken soup, pesto broccoli minestrone (recipe to come!) and this hearty one-pot wonder.
This is a variation of one of my staple recipes, "Indian-Spiced…Continue

Growing up in a society that had a limited selection and shortage of certain foods, I became more aware of what food represents and what is its real value. Both of my grandparents had small farms with several domestic animals, and as a kid we used to help out in the garden and in the field a lot, weeding out vegetable beds, planting seeds, picking fruits and even digging out potatoes. The appreciation for our meal was that much greater, and we enjoyed every bit that was on the…Continue

After checking into our resort apartment, it was almost time for dinner.... and I was most excited and happy when I heard that we were going for Szechuan food instead of western food! Phew... that is really good news to me ...not that I don't like to take burgers and stuff but because I am a rice lover... I must have rice at least once a day or once a week if it is not too much to ask... LOL...
One of my sister's friend is working in this Szechuan restaurant called Chin's…

The very next morning we had to leave Las Vegas for San Diego .....but before we did, we went to the premium factory outlet center to do our last minute shopping.... The mall is just walking distance from our Tahiti Village Resort and wasting no time, after rubbing massive sunblock lotion on our face and arms, we took a ten minutes walk to the mall under the hot sun....…Continue

What better way to welcome autumn than with some scrumptious pumpkin, Nutella (need I say more?!) muffins!
This "toddler-friendly" recipe is a variation of my baby-friendly "Pumpkin Spice Muffin Bites." It's a little more indulgent but still relatively healthy as I substituted the butter with coconut oil (yes, it IS healthy in small doses...not convinced? Check out…Continue
The following night after the heavy downpour, it was a time for another excitement, this time it was not as "threatening" as the previous night but a time for a "thunderous" one... an event I was looking forward to since the day I arrived in Las Vegas!
The only SHOW I wanted to go and watch is none other than a tribute to Michael Jackson and he is none other than Michael Firestone! Upon checking into the resort, we quickly booked tickets to the MJ Live in Rio…

Soon it was dark when we reached the outskirts of Las Vegas... in fact, it was going to pour and it did!! With the lightning and all, I was quite nervous about the heavy rain and wind... furthermore, the radio kept announcing that those driving to Las Vegas got to look out for flash floods and take a U-turn out from the town....
I think "we" brought the rain to Las Vegas...
according to my BIL, it seldom rains in Las Vegas..
as in the song "It never rains in…

The weather in Las Vegas is very hot, I have never experienced such heat but then it is dry, I didn't sweat at all but I could feel my skin like being "burn".. so sunblock lotion is an very important item.. never leave home without it... I kept applying the cream on my arms and try to cover my face as much as I could... not surprising if more pigmentation appearing on my face now that I am home...
No wonder my BIL didn't want to join us during that afternoon to the strip...…

On Sunday morning, while munching on a "carob coconut puffed rice bar" and sipping my usual decaf Earl Grey, I saw a "Cinnamon Toast Crunch" commercial, which had me start reminiscing about my "breakfasts of the past."
Long gone are the days when I used to devour sugary cereals like Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cocoa Puffs (my favourite!) and…Continue
