My first home cooked meal for my kids in 2013! Yes, finally I have managed to cook a meal for my three kids during this CNY!! (An achievement if you know me by now.... LOL... .)
Early morning I went to the market to get the fresh stuff that I need... fish, meat for soup, green vegetables and for desserts, we had Durians!! Well, each time Aaron comes back to IPOH, he will crave for this King of the Fruits... and he was so happy yesterday when he managed to buy the whole lot of 9…

With full and heavy stomach, we eased digestion in Queensball Mall which is just a short distance away from Sungai Dua... we walked around the mall, browsing around and buying nothing.. seriously, nothing was bought that evening.... it was a good sign, at least for my pockets... hahahaa....
Thinking back now, it is indeed a Big surprise that we went back to the hotel empty-handed... Kudos to my girl! What a good girl she is! She didn't buy anything at all.....

It’s safe to say that I love sweets. And chocolate. And cookies. And well, I’m pregnant too (as if I haven’t mentioned that recently *wink*). Pregnant or not, I will never turn down the opportunity to eat something sweet! I had the chance to review a product (of my choice) from…Continue

I'm going to be honest here...I made a bangin ass chili yesterday. All hail the crock pot, who does my best work for me. I'm obsessed with soup, this month anyway. Last month I was obsessed with all things pumpkin (when I started making pumpkin pancakes I realized things were getting out of control). I'm still working on the perfect pumpkin soup as a magical culmination of the last couple of months. I know, my life is intense.
Anyway, back to my chili. It…
Ok, so I know I just heated up a plate of food in the microwave. I remember grabbing my plate and my glass of water and walking towards the office so I could eat while doing a little work on the computer. I remember taking that first bite, but damn...where did the rest of my food go?
This must be that moment of self awareness I've been hearing about. The time when…

Called up few restaurants in the late afternoon but all same reply, "Sorry, full.." or "Come around 8pm.." Not surprising to hear that especially during the festive season... Those popular eatery places are normally crowded or full.. unless we are willing to wait but stomach usually cannot wait that long.. hahaha... so where shall we go for our food... or what shall we eat..... I asked my kids... and their answer was ....
Yes... Yours Truly ended up folding up her sleeves and…

I love that our little family now has a few traditions throughout the year and this is one of them! Monkey Bread. I only make it one time a year; on Christmas morning and this year I am especially excited for it (probably bc I’m pregnant and have been craaaaving it since December 1st!)
Monkey Bread is prepared on Christmas Eve and left sitting out on the counter until morning. Then, all you have to do when you wake is pop it in the oven, set a timer, and voila! 20 minutes…Continue

Whenever she is back, she will tell me that she wants to eat this and eat that... and I try my best to oblige her cos I know that she deprives from these food whenever she is in college. She has slimmed down a lot, so much that it worries me that she has insufficient of protein, carbohydrates, vitamins...etc etc......etc... to me, she is just skin and bones... Well, I may be a bit overworried but then which mother or father doesn't worry about their kids' food intake especially when they are…Continue

When I went to bed last night, Rascal was heading back to the North Pole to visit Santa Claus and give him a report on how the kids are doing. When Rascal returned home early this morning, he decided to throw a party in the living room with his girlfriend. He found a perfect chair for them to sit in and he placed it in front of the television.
For the rest of the story and photos of Rascal's party please visit…Continue

Happy Thanksgiving! (a few days late)
Are you exhausted? ; ) This was the first Thanksgiving I hosted and not that I didn’t know it was a lot of work but I think being pregnant with an achy back just made all of the work a *little harder! I was so sore and sleepy on black Friday but it was so worth it! The memories, the smell of Thanksgiving in our home all day, watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade and the comfort of being together with nowhere…Continue

To all of you nostalgic saps who are mourning the potential death of the Twinkie, I offer the following quiz:
How many Twinkies have you actually consumed in the past month? (NOTE: You should not count this week when the world decided that Twinkies were edible again.)

Here in our home, the best way they spend it is by…what else…eating!
So during their last semestral break, my husband and I got busy in the kitchen and we thought of different meals to keep the children engaged.

As a mom of 2 boys, I’ve put together 2 construction parties to date! The first party was for Rocco’s 1st birthday and it was a huge bash with family & friends from near and far. The second construction party was for Roman’s 3rd birthday and it was a much smaller…Continue

By the time we left 1Utama, it was almost 6pm... the best meal of the day had arrived... DINNER! I received the Baby Bullet as a gift! I do believe that the product is worth the money but if you have a blender or a food processor then you can read the following information about How To and make your own baby food. You will want to purchase some freezable containers for the food that you can find at Babies R Us. These will have a measure on them so that you can make the right portion amounts ahead of time and always have fresh baby food on…Continue

Terrific Tuesday - it is terrific to know solving hunger problems can help you solve life problems.
Today is is World Food day! That means it is a day set aside in order to make people aware of food challenges faced by people around the world. Oxfam has created a GROW campaign to help people who actually care about hunger issues do something to help. The lesson I learned from the Oxfam Grow campaign is that the lessons we learn about food and stopping…

This cool autumn weather has had me craving hearty soups and stews lately-you name the soup or stew and I've been craving it (or is it a pregnancy thing?!). To prove that fact, in the last 4 days I've made chicken soup, pesto broccoli minestrone (recipe to come!) and this hearty one-pot wonder.
This is a variation of one of my staple recipes, "Indian-Spiced…Continue

Growing up in a society that had a limited selection and shortage of certain foods, I became more aware of what food represents and what is its real value. Both of my grandparents had small farms with several domestic animals, and as a kid we used to help out in the garden and in the field a lot, weeding out vegetable beds, planting seeds, picking fruits and even digging out potatoes. The appreciation for our meal was that much greater, and we enjoyed every bit that was on the…Continue
