What are your plans for Easter weekend?
Last year we had all 5 of the kids and I took them to a local egg hunt. My hubby worked 7 days a week then (at his last job) and couldn’t go with me, but I was able to talk my mom into going to help out with the kids. It wouldn’t have been too difficult by myself, but since my son was just a year and a half he needed most of the attention. They split the area up into sections for different age groups and have games and little booths for… Continue

It snowed here big-time two days ago and we had so much fun playing outside! I had just bought L a small shovel at the mall as a treat after his dentist appointment (we made it through another difficult one) because I know how much he loves helping Daddy shovel the driveway.
And I got to make a snowman for the first time in about 25 years! Two years ago I bought this cute snowman kit at a sale at a local school. The kids had made many of these… Continue

I'm always looking for that place I can go to feel supported, cared for and happy. Who doesn't want that? But I work from home. I live in a town that is not very accepting of outsiders. I've only lived in KY for 4 years. I don't know many people and don't have a lot of friends here. I have friends back in my home state of California, but they are very far away and very busy.
So I thought I'd take up a quest to find a group of supportive friends online. Thinking about what kind of… Continue

A story to tell for Halloween/All Hollows Eve. This story is not scary but strange and perfect for the season.
Let me set the stage.
We moved into our house 5 years ago this month. When we moved in our house our belongings were still in MI so the people we brought the house from left all the things they did not want behind. One of the things they left us was a console TV. How cool or so we thought. The TV had a mind of its own or was controlled by something other then us.… Continue

This post could very well get me unfollowed on Twitter. Mommy bloggers all over are going to read this (this assumes, of course, that I have that many readers) and say "See? It's women like that who don't deserve a child." Look, I'm just one of those women who knows her limitations. I have one very awesome daughter and absolutely no wish to roll that particular set of dice again. Nope. I know when to fold and walk away from the table. And don't ask me about these gambling metaphors either.… Continue

We recently went to Raging Waters for my Mom's B-Day! My mom loves anything with water so we thought it would be a different thing to do. It was a little crowded, but still very fun. I haven't been since a kid. Easy LOVED it. He jumped right into the pools and was so excited. Because I was worried about my camera I didn't get pictures of the rest of the gang. Naturally I had to get a couple snapshots of the boy. I hope to go back soon before the summer is over.…

This popped into my head tonight and I had to post it before my peri-peri-perimenopausal brain forgets it, all together. An amazingly fun and kid friendly dessert.
I used to “team up” with my son on playing a joke every time we’d have company over. I haven’t done this with him in years and I’ve gotta bring it back out before the summer vanishes.
You can do this a few ways, but the version in this picture consists of:

I just finished taking a bath. I don't mean just any bath. I mean a big girl bath, one without any kiddos. For those of you with kids, you know what I am talking about.
First, I go in and turn on the IPod to Choo Choo Soul. No wait, I said NO kids. I can listen to anything I want. My choice, Michael Jackson Dangerous album. Next, I turn on the water to lukewarm, pour in tearless baby wash and pull out the color dots. Wait, Wait.....tonight it can be scalding hot clear water with the… Continue

I should have my own parking space at JFK and LaGuardia. Many industries are like mine, you need to get on a plane to see a customer, work a trade show, evaluate a factory, research a new opportunity, train a sales force or just be present at an industry networking event. There is little you can do about the distance from your family but there is something you can do about making your trip comfortable and productive! I will break it down from booking the trip to arriving home…..

A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales.
The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small.
The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale.
Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible.
The little girl said, 'When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah'.
The teacher… Continue

Did you know that most homes in Texas do NOT have basements? This fact is also true in many other parts of the country!
Color me ignorant but I didn't know this until yesterday. I happened to be talking to one of my blogging buddies yesterday, Jeannie - from Musing From Left Field
(aka the exclamation point queen), about her new treadmill purchase. I told her how we keep our treadmill in the basement in front of… Continue
