Grandchildren, BINGO and Alzheimer's Disease

I think that one of the saddest things about Alzheimer's disease is the fact that it often robs children of their grandma or grandpa. Children are very astute. They know that grandma or grandpa is there "physically", but they can usually sense that they are not fully "present".

Three Things That Made My Day Less than Stellar

I'm a list girl.  Always have been.  Always will be.

I like a chore list.  I like the focus it gives me during the day and I love, love, love being able to cross things off my list as the day goes on.

I live by a grocery list.  I don't understand how people can go to the grocery store without one.  Unless you have a list in your head of the 3 to 5 things you need, but then again, that's a list.  A mental list?  Yes.  But a list, nonetheless.  Walking through the aisles…

Why I LOVE Infantino Puzzles

I am always looking for puzzles and games that have educational components that my soon-to-be 4 year old will also find entertaining.  One brand that I absolutely L-O-V-E is Infantino!  I knew that they made a lot of different baby items I liked, but I had no idea they made puzzles until I found one at a local discount store.  The packaging caught my eye, with its cute little yellow box with bright pictures of the puzzle pieces on the front, and an actual puzzle piece attached to the handle. … Continue

Longs for the big game....cheering on his team....going over stats....setting up his teams....longs for the smack talk....longs for those touch downs and end zone celebrations....while he remembers his youth in Pop Warner… Continue

How to Make a Simple Sock Puppet

The weather’s heating up here in Southern California. We’re fortunate to live just a mere 20-minute drive above the valley below because temperatures easily pass 100 degrees daily in the summer. As you climb the mountain, you literally watch the temperature gauge in the car drop degree by degree, till you arrive at home. A decent 15-20 degrees cooler simply because we’re at 5,000 feet.

But it still gets hot up here in the mountains.

And the hot weather…

The Car Color Car Game

After we moved to the country, Colby spent an entire year driving Bunny to her preschool in our old neighborhood. On an average day, the commute was 45 minutes…on a bad day, well over an hour. Bunny hated the commute. For 1-½ hours five days a week she had to sit in the backseat of her Daddy’s car or truck, listening to CNBC and him… Continue
