How to Organise a Garage Sale

The garage is usually the place where we keep our cars. But in many households the garage is the place where we keep everything we have no need for or we just can't find a better place for. It's normal, because every house has many things in it which are not…

I know what's in your garage

As I've previously complained, I run in the mornings. I try to stay focused on my breath and my stride and not slipping on unseen ice on the sidewalk and falling on my butt (again), but sometimes I get distracted: Mostly by people's garages.…

My Love Affair With Trash

I love to shop as much as the next woman, but since I am back to staying at home, I really don't want to be spending the extra money by shopping until I drop.  Well, at least not by going to shopping malls and paying full price- I can certainly do without that.  While I often shop at stores like Marshall's and TJ Maxx, sometimes it makes more sense to save even more money.  And we all like to…

The Garage of Doom!

I spent the day yesterday rummaging through boxes in my garage trying to make piles worth of giveaway stuff...sell stuff, and good will stuff, along with trying to "un-bury" our air hockey table. I got my husband this air hockey table the first year we were together. He had always wanted one and this one is big. Its full sized, about the size as a full length pool table and having it delivered to the house via freight for Christmas in 2005 was quite the task...too big to fit under the tree and… Continue

my first love-books

Today we are looking at flea markets and books. I love books. Always have and probably will until I cant read or see or whatever anymore. One of the fun aspects of reading a book is scoring the sale. Yeah, sure, new books are great because they are new and don’t smell and no one else has ‘fingered’ the book. And I guess the Kindle and other e-readers are nice for those who like that sort of thing. I’m also a fan of audio books, especially in the car in traffic or on a long trip. But lately,…

Garage Sale Shopping 101: How to Shop Like a Pro

Hi everyone! My name is Rachel, and I’m so excited to be guest posting at Live Well For Less. My friends and I started Froogaloo.com in March 2010 to share our money saving tips and tricks with others.

We quickly realized that, day in and day out, we’re all working very hard for many different goals, such as education, retirement, vacation, a car, a home, family, etc. So, we created Froogaloo.com, which is a community focused on helping you find resources (both online & offline)… Continue

Our Suburban Garage was a Crack House

We didn’t know our garage was being used as a crack house until this weekend when we cleaned it out. Judging by how long we’ve had some of the lawn products where we discovered the evidence, this appears to be a two-year operation.

We wouldn’t have suspected a thing if Skye hadn’t purchased a...[Please Continue Reading]… Continue
