The Boy is about to turn 12. I’m baffled as to how that happened. I can’t possibly be old enough to have a 12 year old. Of course, a birthday means a birthday party. Back when I was a teenager (in prehistoric times), girls did not have nearly the pressures they have today. Without cell phones and the Internet, there was no need to be constantly on, so there was more time
to relax. There also wasn't the same urgency to beef up the college
resume with hundreds of clubs and AP courses and we didn't have parents
that signed us up for every activity known to man. However, we still
