They Just Pop Out That Way

Watching three girls go from womb to now, I have had the privilege of learning/realizing that yes indeed, some things do just come to us girls naturally. It's like a code of honor that Mother Nature plants in

their heads while they're being created. Here are a few that I find

worthy of comment...

You must never, ever go to the bathroom alone. What…

Palin vs. Palin: Messages Girls Receive

Have you noticed the different treatment Bristol Palin receives from the media compared to her mother, Sarah Palin? Read my post on http://marinagraphy.com to see how media perceptions of these two women affect the messages our daughters receive. It is not a political post...it's a womanhood post.

Share me with your friends if you like and let me know you dropped by with your blog's link. I will visit back. Thanks

If Only I Had The Nerve - What Sport Would You Have Played?

I am so inspired by my daughters desire, and actual action, of playing Volleyball this year. I've spent so many years on the sidelines, wishing that I had the nerve to get out there and play. Most of my life I've had severe anxiety and couldn't make myself take that first step. But, if I had the nerve, I would have loved to be a…

HOW TO SHOP FOR CHILDREN'S CLOTHING

It is true for everybody that there comes a point in life when their parents say to them, "You did not come with instructions!" When this was said to us, our expectations were that our parents knew what they have to do.

We felt this way as we didn't know better. But, when the tables are turned and you are the parent, you totally…

How do you get a pre-school girl to sit still?

http://youthinkyoucanblog.wordpress.com/2010/07/26/how-do-you-get-a-pre-school-girl-to-sit-still/

I found a nail salon does the trick.

I realize it's a risky endeavor and it could have gone a completely different way. I was a brave future step mom to take that chance. This is where I use the tired old excuse; I only had one child to raise and with… Continue

Evil Genius “In Da House”!

The Boy is about to turn 12. I’m baffled as to how that happened. I can’t possibly be old enough to have a 12 year old. Of course, a birthday means a birthday party. Always chaotic, stressful, & expensive. His birthday falls on Thursday this year, but of course, being a school day, the plan would be to have it on the following Saturday. Certainly that was HIS plan. However, being the…

Teen Girls Today - More Pressure Yet More Resources

Back when I was a teenager (in prehistoric times), girls did not have nearly the pressures they have today. Without cell phones and the Internet, there was no need to be constantly on, so there was more time

to relax. There also wasn't the same urgency to beef up the college

resume with hundreds of clubs and AP courses and we didn't have parents

that signed us up for every activity known to man. However, we still

had problems, and there were very few resources…

Mean Girls

Mean girls are nothing new. We didn’t call them mean girls when I was in school but they existed. There have been a few in

my life. The girl that made my 5th

grade year pure torture, the girl in my class that was my friend one day, hated

me the next and was my BFF the day after that, and then there was my best

friend from kindergarten that somehow grew up to be better than me.…
