Millennials and the Holiday Spirit

Although it may be the holiday season, as far as presents go that doesn't mean a whole lot to Millennials. Like so many other issues, they have their own ideas about gift giving. Apparently what they want is cash, mostly to pay down college costs and other debt.

So much for the negative stereotype that those born between 1980 and 2000 are lazy and have a sense of entitlement. Millennials are laboring under a collective $1 trillion in debt from student loans and still…

An Attitude of Gratitude. (By Sarah Senst)

Regardless of a families’ financial situation it is helpful  to use the holidays as a time to teach family values. Any gift, whether big or small, can come from the heart keeping the recipient in mind. So what values are important to you and…

Gift Guide for the Impossible to Buy For

Where do you start with these folks? They already have everything, they don’t want anything, they’re difficult and picky… We have some in our family too. What to do? Ignoring them is not a sensible option, whether the “impossible” person in question is the mother-in-law or the boss. So, then, we thought that these types should probably be receiving virtual gifts. No, not a virtual Facebook cupcake, but rather something that…

Holiday fun and gift giving at the office

When it comes to holidays and giving gifts to your co-workers, sometimes that can become a bit uncomfortable if you don’t know much about your co-workers’ private lives. The last thing you want to do is give a lousy gift and become known as the “lousy gift giver” in your department.

Why not suggest to your co-workers a Christmas gift card swap? Sort of like the Secret Santa gift… Continue

A Star is Born on the Internet...Literally!

Have you heard about the woman who's going to give birth live on the internet? That's right, according to Boston.com, Lynsee (that's two "E's"), a 23 year-old teacher from Minneapolis, is going to bring forth her 1st child live on camera for the whole world to see.

Am I shocked? Not really. Grossed out a bit, but not shocked. She's going to famous. Really, really famous...for like half a day...maybe longer if she goes for the Petocin. Now who doesn't want that?

Pay It Forward Mondays!

As I'm organizing my office, scheduling the week and I am packaging a donation to an event (child's size satin head wrap for cancer patients) ... it hit me. I received a twitter this morning to help donate to a cancer event. This is a part of my new business plan, but I would like to challenge every one to give of themselves every Monday. It can be a charitable donation to your favorite charity, a phone call to a long lost friend, someone who lost their job, or time at your place of… Continue
