Kindergarten Coiffure

Last Friday was like any other day.  The girls came home on the bus.  They played outside until it started to get dark.  We were all tired from the long week so we decided to have pizza for dinner.  After dinner we watched a movie together, and then it was time for Hunter to go to bed.  She went to her room, put on her pajamas and brushed her teeth.  As she was leaning over to kiss us goodnight, I noticed something wrong.  She had bangs where she didn’t have them…

Insecurites Getting The Best Of Me!

Another bloggy friend of mine has encouraged me to be honest with my feelings. She recently wrote a letter to her church and it was received warmly. Which reminded me that I have written 2 letters to my church asking for help to get the word out for Rescue here, and I haven't received even an acknowledgment email from them. I haven't even gotten a "Heather, I think that's a great idea, lets sit down and talk about it." I was first attracted to this church because of its laid back atmosphere and… Continue

Exciting New Directions

So last night for the first time in like 8 years I was apart of a church small group. It felt very familiar and reminded me of Youth Group Days. I hate that its been so long that I've been apart of one, but I'm so glad because we've been going to Grace Community Church for about 2 months and we don't know a soul. So now that I can put faces to people I see and try to remember names, I feel so much better. It appears there will be other 18 month olds at this small group that J Myster can play… Continue

Rescue Her On Feature Friday

A couple of weeks ago while blog hopping I found a blog post that really touched me. In Arizona you hear a lot about human trafficking and its a very scary ordeal, while human trafficking is primarily smuggling mexicans across the border, it goes both ways. Along with drug cartels, human trafficking in and out of mexico is 90 percent under aged girls. A good majority of these girls are even under the age of 10. Being a victim of sexual abuse I have a hole in my heart for any child who suffers… Continue

Woman in Mid Forties Dreams ONLY of the Nissan Cube!

I am a recovering material girl. Over a short span of two decades, my husband and I managed to accumulate an impressive collection of “status symbols” which I enjoyed until I realized how much excess “baggage” we were carrying around. I have become more practical in my 5th decade (that would be my 40’s). I have stopped worrying about what will “impress”. I now follow my heart to make decisions.…
