Before the Husband gets Home- The Quick Makeover

My grandmother (married 59 years) was giving out advice at my sister’s bridal shower and it made me reevaluate my life.

“Your husband goes to work everyday with women who look nice. He shouldn’t come home and you look a mess.”

Now let me start by saying for the past 2 3/4 years I’ve been married, I haven’t really cared too much about my appearance. I’m not saying I walk around looking like “who shot John?”, but usually after work (back when I was working) it was only natural to…

All Kinds of Wrong - Vintage Folger's Commercial Circa 1950's

Welcome to the first installment of "All Kinds of Wrong" on the Multiple Mayhem Mamma blog.

You may have surmised by now that I'm somewhat sarcastic and have low tolerance for nonsense. As well, I have a penchant for all things referencing to the past, my youth and prior as well.

The combination of these two facts has resulted in something that I've wanted to do for a long time: analyze vintage television. Commercials and TV shows from bygone eras have both…

Five things I learned watching reality shows

I have a confession to make: my name is Teri and I love reality shows!

Now, not every show is my cup of tea, but several have me by the remote control.

One is the Real Housewives series on Bravo. I am intrigued by different

cultures of women as well as the variations from coast to coast. Oh

yeah, I like the clothes too.

The wannabe sociologist in me is fascinated by people's behavior,

motives and… Continue

The birthday blues....

Did anyone else catch last week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills? If so, you saw two moms plan over-the-top birthday parties for their two toddlers. And yes, I said BOTH moms planned and held elaborate parties. I mean in comparison, one of the mother’s really went overboard (as did her plastic surgeon regarding her overly plumped lips)….and the final event didn’t…

Oprah and Celeb Moms Give Us Hope

"Oprah isn't 'like' many of her viewers in terms of income, but she connects to them on a personal level," said Lou Manza, a psychology professor at Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania. "She has chronicled her own struggles in a very public manner, and this lets people see that while she is wealthy, she also has 'regular' problems and has managed to work through them. This gives people hope - 'If Oprah did it, so can I.'" This quote came from the… Continue

It's Ok Ladies, Tankinis Can Be Sexy

I went dark for a few days. I was visiting a few friends who recently had babies or are pregnant. The crew is starting to to get bigger! Travelling a few hours in a car with an 11 month old is an experience. Under the circumstances, CE was wonderful, but I was freakin exhausted by the time I got home. Bag of clothes, bag of food, bag of toys, pack and play, portable high chair. Lugging all that shit in and out of my car was manual labor. I crashed as soon as I got home. It was great to see the… Continue

Tubular Tuesdays Part Two

Well the Biggest Loser is.....Helen! It's great that an older woman won because she is a good example that it's never too late to start taking care of yourself. I felt really bad for Tara though. She was only 5 or 6 pounds from beating Helen. She looked so defeated. I cannot believe they dragged that shit out for 3 hours though. I had no idea it was going to be that long! I had to switch over to the Real Housewives at 10pm and switch back during commercials to see who won. It's called… Continue
