6 Mistakes to Avoid When Remodeling Your Bathroom

Undertaking a bathroom remodeling project can be stressful and expensive. Mistakes leading to setbacks can make the project drag on and cost more than originally planned. You as the homeowner want to be pleased with the end result of your remodel.

Spring into Family Improvements with Compliment Day

You can find serenity in having compliment day with your family. Sometimes, when there is more than one child in a family, sibling rivalry occurs and the children will bicker and argue with each other. Often when that bickering and arguing occurs, it tends to drive a mother off the ledge into insanity. Or perhaps that is just at my house. I am the mother of four children ranging in age from 17 to 5. As much as it shames me to admit it, on occasion, my children bicker and argue as if they…

Modeling Imperfection

Today one thing is on my mind. It’s about all of the unintentional modeling we do. The modeling of imperfection. The modeling of poor parenting. The modeling of rushed decisions.

2010-08-17 - Tuesday Thoughts - Modeling Imperfection

When I think about the parent I strive to be, it doesn’t usually include many flaws or mistakes. It’s a…

I have flaws, but so do diamonds.

I have a love/hate relationship with my job. The company I work for, in general, is excellent. My coworkers are some of my favorite people. The pay is wonderful, the work is easy (typically easy- there are anomalies), and the benefits are plenty. While I could do this job in my sleep, it can become tedious and frustrating.

I work at a contracted call center of a government agency responsible for reasearching and disseminating information about…

I Thought You Knew What You Were Doing!!

Skye and I want to rip out the Berber carpet that we had installed in the basement years ago when my mother-in-law briefly lived in what is now the mancave. We want to replace it — the carpet, not the mother-in-law (Hi, Shirley! *waves at mother-in-law* You are irreplaceable!) — with the tile we have leftover from the home improvement project we still refer to as the DIY that almost dissolved our marriage.

Skye: “I thought you knew what you were doing!”

Me: “I thought you… Continue
