Did your hospital or midwife allow eating during labor? Most of us MomCavers weren’t allowed to eat once we arrived at the hospital. The reasoning behind this (barbaric, in our opinion) practice is that in an emergency, general anesthesia may be used and any food eaten could aspirate into the lungs. While this may be a concern in very rare cases, most laboring moms are doing the most physically demanding work of their lives and could use some sustenance.

I have seen the light. And so has Anna Lane, who…Continue

Children are very soft at heart and the way they are being treated leaves a permanent impression on their mind. Violence in childhood plays a major role in forming the type of person he/she will become. Though violence is associated with the interaction between environment and genetics and it is really impossible to alter the DNA one born with, the way these genes are being expressed can be dominated with extra care. So, saying that an individual is born that way no…Continue

I am elated to reveal the cover of my soon to be published book. This book chronicles the hurdles I had to endure to finally achieve success as a French and Spanish teacher. I hope my story will inspire all future educators from across the globe.
I believe in order to make a change for the better in public education, school districts across the United States should make a concerted effort to hire more educators of color. I wrote “Saying Yes To My Life’s Calling: Breakthroughs in…Continue
