I've received great gems of blogging inspiration and advice (most from the Mom Bloggers Club members!) so I thought I'd share and, hopefully, you will share as well.
"You have to think of yourself as a "big deal" or no one else will."
"Your words are valuable. Your experiences are worth sharing. People do care."
Now, go forward in your blogging adventure. Share some of your favorite…Continue

Cheers! Summer is officially here. And based on the weather here, summer didn't want anyone to forget it.
It was H-O-T all week.
After weeks of back and forth warm-and-then-cold-rainy-days, summer is here full throttle. And I'm excited that our tall, seeding grass will die back soon, so I can perhaps breathe clearly again. Sniff sniff.

We all go through phases with our children's diets. (Heck, I go through phases in my own diet as my tastes change throughout the month. So what can I expect?) But kids are notorious for being "picky," "difficult" and "plain."
And truth be told, my kids have thus far been truly amazing little eaters. My first has very openly tasted foods most of her life, leaning towards a less-interested stage when she hit four years of age, but nonetheless, discovering for herself what she truly…

Seven years ago someone mentioned 'weblogs' and I winced. Why would someone want to go and put their journaling thoughts online for all to see? Good god, what madness is taking over society? We left for Peace Corps in 2000 and returned to the rubbed-and-well-worn jeans look. Cell phones for everyone...and everywhere. And now, diluting of the web with weblogs?!
And then just five years later we welcomed our first child. We were living in the Bay Area and our family lived just far…

"The worst thing one can do is not to try, to be aware of what one wants and not give in to it, to spend years in silent hurt wondering if something could have materialized - never knowing".

I just stumbled across a link to the destined-to-be-viral Grand Rapids LipDub of Don McLean's American Pie.(An article about why 3,000+ people came out to make this video, here.)
Anyhow, I'm not moved to watch YouTube videos and clips…

Clean your room. Study. Go to bed. Cut the drama. Hurry up. Why’d you get a C on that test? (I tend to repeat the same phrases when talking to my kids).
However, I’ve discovered that I…Continue

I’ve spent the weekend hiding from my family, under the guise of “writing.” I really am writing because…well, I am. The girls have been in school a total of three days in the last eight, and I am going crazy…so I am “working.”
Sometimes when I write, I need total silence. Sometimes, I need to write in a noisy Starbucks. Sometimes, I play classical music, and at other times, I watch television or movies. But since I don’t have cable in my office, I have to resort to my DVD…Continue

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. Philippians 4:6

This is what we do for our chidren... And although, it may sometimes feel that our efforts are not appreciated, it wont matter much when we see our children grow their wings.
