Aside from the amazing cinematography, original score,… Continue

"Any concern too small to be turned into a prayer is too small to be made into a burden." Corrie Ten Boom
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. Philippians 4:6

My grandmother recently turned 80 years young and was given a surprise party by her family and friends. I was responsible for speaking on behalf of the grandchildren and wanted to share an excerpt of the speech with my readers... It shows the importance of grandparents and how they affect generations.
I am speaking on behalf of the grandchildren about our personal experiences with Mama Dot and how she has shaped who we are… Continue

“I can see for miles because I have stood on shoulders of giants.” – Sir Isaac Newton
This is what we do for our chidren... And although, it may sometimes feel that our efforts are not appreciated, it wont matter much when we see our children grow their wings.

This morning I spent a couple hours banging my head on my desk trying to push out a sales page that just didn't want to come. I've written plenty of sales letters in my day and they usually flow easily and just about effortlessly. This one just wouldn't cooperate.
The more frustrated I got the less inspired I was, the harder it was to get anything done.
So I did what I always do... left. Yep, there's no point in trying to push a square peg through a round hole. Sometimes… Continue

It happens to us all from time to time. We find ourselves engulfed in negativity. Negativity is soo incredibly bad for us. We all want to reach a higher ground with supporters not naysayers. No one wants to have their dreams shot down, their goals shattered or just pooooed on.... so I located a wonderful new spot for myself called Mom bloggers Club. I'm excited about the 3 friends I've just met and look forward to getting to know each of them.
For me Mom Bloggers is my fresh new start.… Continue

Ever since I was a little girl, my mother’s jewelry box has had a certain draw. When I was young, it was a place of wonderment and fantasy. I’d stand in front of her dresser wearing her high heels, and Continue
spraying her perfume--but the most magical moment was when I’d adorn
myself with her jewelry, piling on piece after piece until I surely
looked ridiculous and weighed down under it all, but I felt like a
princess and daydreamed my very own princess fairy tales. Now that I…

When I posted the YouTube video of Miss Kitty a few days ago, it got me thinking about exercise and overall fitness in general. I've been feeling rather frustrated lately. This is due to the fact that I haven't been able to exercise. I mean really exercise, full out, for over three years.
Whenever I share this frustration with my friends, some of them look at me blankly. And others roll their eyes, "Uh, Holly, I'm perfectly happy not… Continue

One great writer once told me that some people have it, some people don’t.
And then you have Larry Bird, one monstrous, awkward cement mixer in the middle of the basketball court. He should be just standing there and get paid, you know what I mean? He’s an OBSTACLE not a basketball player! And yet, he’s one of the most amazing players known to man. Apart from that lithe speed-of-light Jordan guy. Phew!!
Larry Bird who moves at a speed so slow, I could beat him to the net.… Continue

I love quotes, sayings & things that inspire and encourage. And there are SO MANY quotes that I love, that I got into a business where I can put the quotes on my walls (and other places too)! The quotes are everywhere in my house - because I need
to be encouraged all the time and inspiring quotes & words for me to see was exactly what I need for constant reminders and a boost.
So, I have a resource for everyone. If you want to put your favorite quotes on your walls… Continue

Elsie and Fina stand at my bedroom door. They anxiously await the treat in the pantry, the treat that I give them each morning. They follow me downstairs into the kitchen prancing and voicing their excitement for the yummy morsels they are about to get. They beg, sit, then in a single bite their treats are gone. They stay underfoot as I prepare my morning coffee, hoping that perchance, I will show them mercy and give them one more treat. They stare at me with longing eyes.
Once they… Continue

Oh...It seems like yesterday.
We had just spent the summer with my parents. I couldn't wait to be back home with my husband whom I missed terribly. My girls, likewise missed their daddy and were anxious to be home with him.
We boarded the plane looking fresh and crisp in our nice white summer clothes. The girls were wearing matching white shirts with sweet little green frogs that I had just happened to find in all three sizes. I was wearing crisp white linen shirt and… Continue

Part of the Body: Elbow
Since moving here to Arizona, this is how many of our family dinners end. No, this is not a regional tradition or an activity mandated by some obscure state law. This is not out of observance of any religious activity. Nor is it because we have some strange vocabulary obsession. This is the result of a school book sale.
It all started about six years ago when my daughter… Continue

Now, I'm no ace of cakes.....but, I can make a pretty pastry if I do say so myself.
I've been making cakes for about 15 years now. It started with a class at an arts and crafts supply store and has become a long lasting hobby. Since my first cake ( a dalmatian cake for my daughter's third birthday) I've crated a litany of cakes. Wedding cakes, birthday cakes, shower cakes, baptism cakes....cakes with flowers, cakes with motorcycles, cakes with cartoon characters, cakes with… Continue

Boy! Some days I feel like I'm just not any good at anything!
This morning I woke up 45 minutes late. My kids in turn were running late to school. My house was (still is) a mess - didn't get the dishes unloaded last night or the laundry done or the miscellaneous clutter put away. As I picked up a friend to take to our Women's Group at church, I apologized profusely for the mess that my car was...and for being late. I over-scheduled my youngest daughter's activities for the weekend,… Continue
