Sometimes I wonder if I had enough time to keep a journal, what it would read like. Going one step further, what would it read like if I waxed Virginia Woolf and wrote in narrative mode, penning whatever dialogue I had with myself. Would I share such thoughts with people I knew? People I didn't know? Would I risk being committed to a psychiatric facility for the sake of my blog?

I'm coming out of the storm and some days it feels that way. Today, in my world it is pummeling me with rain and hail (the kind that hurts when it hits you). I've become that person, the one that looks at garbage and sees something she could make with it. Repurposing, recycling, upcycling, whatever you want to call it has become a mission. I just finished making a purse out of capri sun pouches.

This year, five of my girlfriends had their first child. I was also pregnant, but with my second. As their bellies grew, they stopped looking at me with a bored stare. Instead, the first time moms gushed and cooed about my growing baby. Now each of them were interested and enthusiastic about the arrival of their own child and could not stop talking about everything baby.
