Growing up in a society that had a limited selection and shortage of certain foods, I became more aware of what food represents and what is its real value. Both of my grandparents had small farms with several domestic animals, and as a kid we used to help out in the garden and in the field a lot, weeding out vegetable beds, planting seeds, picking fruits and even digging out potatoes.
