Being a mother, though the most amazing gift in the world is not always the most glamorous! It is messy! The house needs to be cleaned, meals made, laundry done, kids chauffeur, etc. There are no red carpets, no amazing award shows, and no races requiring fancy hats! Let’s just say my son’s Boy Scout Pinewood derby is the fanciest derby I will be attending this year! Haha! So why dress up? Why wear jewelry? Why not just be comfortable? Why…Continue
As mothers we are always wondering if we are present enough in our children’s lives. Lately, I have actually pondered if it’s possible to be too present???
As a stay-at-home mother (who works from home), I take my “job” very seriously and put 110% into parenting my children (and my husband). Letting go seemed as though it has been a major theme in my life this year. I had to let go of my daughter. She went away to college. I had to let go of my middle son. He went away to college. And I had to let go of my eldest son who transitioned from completing college to entering the workforce. Many people ask me, “How does it feel to know that all of your children are ‘grown’ and ‘gone’. I usually respond, “It feels different!”
Learning to let go can be difficult. For me, I thought…Continue

Those who divorce often experience hateful feelings towards their ex at some point, especially if their partners cheated. Obsessing about what happened as it all unraveled, replaying the disappointments, wounding and shocking betrayals–all leading to horrendous feelings of loss and loneliness. They…Continue

This week is a special week. Both of my boys are “graduating”, and while I’ve discussed the perverse nature of graduating from everything and anything now-a-days, I am,
nonetheless, very proud of my boys and can’t help but to allow myself
& get caught up in all the hoopla.…
