This month has been a busy month filled with loads of doctors visits. As a result, I’ve had PLENTY of time to read this month. I’m super thrilled to share these book reviews with you. I’m confident that at least ONE, if not more, of these books, will be added to your to-read list. Plus, I also even have a giveaway for one of the books too.
Before I get to the book reviews, though, I wanted to share some things I learned with you. I have always been a loyal fan of my local library. I…Continue

In addition to tons of books, games, puzzles, and family programs; the library is also the place to get your Museum Adventure Pass!
The Museum Adventure Pass is made possible through the wonderful partnership between local libraries and various zoos and museums. This partnership gives families an opportunity to visit each location at a discounted admission rate or for FREE!

I walked into a store today to pick up a picture frame and other nicknacks. After gathering my items and getting in line, an older lady looked down at my children (who were bouncing around like a couple of sugar-high human jumping jacks) and said, “I have two just like that. Well, my son has two just like that. I really think they should just have school all year round. Being out for the summer…Continue

When you first think of the word "date," it's easy to assume that it involves two individuals roughly around the same age who are in some type of romantic relationship, whether new or seasoned. While this may be true, "dates" can include kids, too. (preferably not in addition to the two individuals in a romantic relationship- that's what babysitters are for!) Special outings with just one child and…Continue
A few weeks ago, my son and I went through his bookshelf. We pulled out all the books that he identified as "baby books," and ones that he didn't want to read. My little guy can read lots of words by himself now, and although he hasn't moved on to reading himself full books yet, I want his shelves to be ready for him. So, we said good-bye to the "I Love Daddy Because" or "Count to 10" books and took them to our second-hand…Continue

Today I took my son to visit the local library for the very first time. I wasn’t sure what to expect because the library close to our house is fairly small. When we went into the library, I was amazed by the amount of books and activities that our local library has to offer the children. Every week our library has a scheduled…Continue

Last year Amazon launched a Lending Library for Kindleand Kindle app with over 11,000 libraries across the US. This means that if you have a library card you can check out ebooks from your local library and instantly start reading them on your Kindle device.
Now, most people think that these free books include only…Continue

** Candy corn disappears faster than wine in my house. (And that's FAST!!!)
** My allergies can seriously suck it.
** Little girls and drama go together like hookers and high heels.
** It's called a "hot" glue gun for a reason. Ouch!
** I'd forgotten how much I wanna feed Barney cookies laced…Continue
I have a LOAD of cookbooks. I love to cook, I think it is fun. Typically I find a few recipes in each cook book that I like and the others don't really interest me too much. Not so with Jamie's Food Revolution: Rediscover How to Cook Simple, Delicious, Affordable Meals .…Continue

I live in such a nice little town that meeting someone unpleasant is always a bit of a slap in the face. But it happens, of course. I guess no place is immune.
Yesterday, my daughter wanted to go to the library. She's 12, and she likes to visit "The Teen Place," a special room that houses all the YA offerings, along with a few tables and a line of computers. It has a neon sign and is very hip looking. I knew she'd come out with an armload of Manga books.
Well, I love the…Continue
It was another one of those nights when I couldn’t sleep. By 2am, one kid had woken up once, another twice, and I was wide awake from my efforts to get everyone back to sleep again. So, as I usually do, I
just laid there in bed thinking. Sometimes I think about what to pack
the kids for snacks for camp. Or I wonder if I forgot to put the
laundry in the dryer. Sometimes I think about the long list of things I
haven’t been able to get to. This was one of those…
