Family Tradition: Comcast Holiday Light Show

comcastxmas-cover

Part of our Christmas Holiday traditions includes attending the light shows offered all over the city, both commercial and neighborhood run. There are few things more spectacular during the holiday season than elaborately decorated displays with beautifully strung lights, rich deep reds and greens, and the smell of pine emanating from fresh cut Christmas trees. And in addition to the highly publicized, world famous Wanamaker Light Show (now Macy's), which I will be discussing…

** Trying to get my kids to organize their rooms is like trying to get a dog to scoop his own poop.

** I wish somebody would jump to make me dinner whenever I say I'm hungry.…

Truly Green Christmas

Nothing makes me feel quite as sad as the trash collection days that immediately follow Christmas Day.  It’s pretty rare that our trash can is even full, and yet I see such an abundance of trash up and down our street as people bring their cast offs to the end of the driveway, waiting for the trash collector to come and haul it all away.  Bags and bags of torn wrapping paper, bows and torn cardboard gift boxes; oversized cardboard boxes that once held toys and gadgets…

Thanksgiving To-Do List

Original Posting at NewlyParents.com

width= The great thing about taking a vacation from work is that you mental check out from work a few days before vacation starts. I found myself in this situation last Thursday around 3pm. Sitting at my desk, my work for the week completed, I was looking at my remaining vacation days.

As I was looking at the vacation days I had planned for… Continue

No Electricity!

Can you imagine living with no electricity. Here in New England, many of us are living without electricity, water, lights, toilets:)

I think people are doing quite well overall; many going to hotels, many staying with relatives, others staying home in the cold and visiting those that have the essentials.

We went without for one day. So blessed was I, that the Lord took care of my dilemna. I was having my first women's tea party from my church (my husband is the pastor) and my thirteen… Continue
