…is nothing to the joy of meeting again.
Reunited and it feeeels so gooood!
It’s back to school time here in VA. That means teachers are back in their classrooms tearing down paper and setting up bulletin boards. To be honest, the first week they are usually sitting in meetings and trying to figure out the expectations for the year, oh and reuniting with work buddies. Most of the time teachers are as excited to see one another as the…

Taking a toddler to a restaurant is really a crap-shoot. Sometimes he’s golden, others he wants nothing to do with it. Usually, if we can keep him entertained, we’re good. On the days he’s on point I feel like I should play the lottery. We usually choose venues that are: louder, don’t mind a mess and have chicken tenders. Yesterday, we met up with friends from work and some of their kids to surprise and celebrate one of our friend’s change from one school to another. She will be missed and…Continue

Hello, dear ones! Please join me for a word study on motherhood. Even if you are not a mother, you can use what you learn in other relationships. You are an example to the children in your life, whether that is a niece/ nephew, or kids in the youth group at your church. Also, I encourage all Godly women to find…Continue

When I was a child, I never understood why my Mother always wanted to know where I am, where I was going, when will I return home, etc. I remember she always told me, she would take all the pain in the World if she could, so I wouldn't have to feel hurt, sickness, sadness.. I never really understood that concern of hers, that constant fear and protection, She would tell me:" Just wait till you have your own kids, you will understand it and you will be the same. it's how Mothers…Continue

Peace and Love on this Sunday morning.
It has been an extremely sad week for Humanity but is it really anything new? And the fact that I can so easily think that isn't that even sadder?

It has been some time, since I've last checked in. My life over the last year has been tumultuous to say the least. Trying to find employment has been ridiculously hard, and once unemployment ran out, my only option was to dig in and try to survive with my writing. I'm reaching out to you, because I so need support. As crazy as it seems, my grandmother always said, "If you don't do, you don't get," so here goes.
My newest contemporary romance, AT LAST, was accepted as a…
Being a woman, the title of this post alone is a very hard thing to admit to. Admitting that we struggle causes us to feel that we aren’t good enough or that we’ve failed in some form. But, I find it an appropriate time to be bold and reveal some of the thoughts I face on being…Continue

My Mother set me up with a guy once when I was in high school. He worked for her, and at the time I didn't realize I was being set up. It was well-intentioned, I have no doubt, but ultimately very weird and awkward for me. So let's not talk about that.
At some point, I tend to ask my married friends how they met their partner. And then they get to tell their origin story. Most of these tales have been honed over the years of the relationship to become coherent stories. I like the…

My son is in love with one of my coworkers (well, as in love as a five-year-old can be). Whenever he visits my office, he gives her lots of hugs, tells her secrets and brings her chocolate from my candy drawer. She adores him and gives him lots of attention, playing her part in his little crush.…Continue

Recently, I became aware of a deep betrayal by a person very close to me. A betrayal that spans the entire relationship with this individual and has been the root of several years of confusion, anger, tears, and anguish. In coming to terms with this, I have discovered that key members of my social group were aware of the deceit and chose to remain silent. When I confronted this circle…Continue

My son often tells me that when he grows up he wants to come and work at my job. He has plans to sit in the cube next to mine and be on my team. He also wants to help distribute candy when the team needs a little pick-me-up on rough days and have lunch with me every day.…Continue

I'm annoyed with Valentines day. It just is too dramatic for my liking. The worst part is that it's dramatic in multiple ways. Whether a person expects a thoughtful gift and high level romance or the HATE VALENTINES DAY, IT'S A HALLMARK HOLIDAY.. blah blah person.. Or that you are single 364 days out the year. Yet if on Valentines day you don't have a date, it's some how the worst thing ever?
If you are only affectionate or thoughtful to your spouse 3 days a year. (Valentine's…Continue

As adults, we realize “that kinda love” doesn’t come until much later in life. Do you ever think about your first crush? Being 5 years old and being around that person or persons that made you giggle and feel…Continue

To eat and exercise right will benefit the rest of your day. Mornings begin by turning a light on. And what I do for the rest of the day can keep the light on or burn it out. Giving my morning a generous head start keeps my energy and attitude more positive for the rest of the day. I’m a morning person, but a LATE-morning person. I don’t do wondrous things first thing.
After I wake up, I make a sleepy, quiet trek across the house to the kitchen to start breakfast. I stay in my sleepy…Continue

Jesus said we should become as little children in order to be admitted into his Kingdom. Do you think his directive included a free pass for unbridled expression regardless of our age? Can you imagine if, as adults, we could speak out exactly how we feel unhindered by…Continue
