Before the Husband gets Home- The Quick Makeover

My grandmother (married 59 years) was giving out advice at my sister’s bridal shower and it made me reevaluate my life.

“Your husband goes to work everyday with women who look nice. He shouldn’t come home and you look a mess.”

Now let me start by saying for the past 2 3/4 years I’ve been married, I haven’t really cared too much about my appearance. I’m not saying I walk around looking like “who shot John?”, but usually after work (back when I was working) it was only natural to…

My Dinning Room Remodel { BEFORE & AFTER }

Hello - come on in!  A while back I showed our dinning room remodel that was almost done but lacking the finishing touches.  Well I think I can finally say it is officially done for now!

Style Makeover

I found a link to Ann Taylor's Blog yesterday through Twitter and after going through it I'm hooked!  My style, if you want to call it that is nonexistent.  Ever since Izzy was born I've been running around in "mommy wear".   These are outfits that I pick more for comfort and ease.  I was more concerned about the potential stains and my post baby body than style.  It got to a point were I don't even know what is cute for my body anymore.  It was…

My students are the best!

It's been a while, and this week has been packed. I work at a boarding school for underprivileged kids and every year we have "Creativity Week" where teachers split up into groups with students to work on projects. The students and teachers come up with ideas for the projects and then get to pick which they want to participate in. It's a great week where we get away from textbooks and homework and have FUN! My group is doing "Pamper Day". We are volunteering at a homeless shelter giving the… Continue

10 Quick Tips for Family Summertime Blues and Boredom

In most homes, school is over, and summertime has begun. On the one hand,

most moms feel grateful that warm weather is here, family fun has begun, and

the stress of the school year is on hold for the next three months. The kids are

ecstatic because they get to run through the yard shooting water guns at their friends,

sleep in and stay up later, and take a break from dreaded…

Lead by example to your kids

You don’t want your kid to undergo from early tooth decay, right? Much more have a bridge, or have a smile makeover in their teeth prematurely. So, as a parent it’s best to encourage your children to brush regularly. But take my advice, don’t force them. I learned it the hard way. Instead of my kid following my rules and advice, he lost interest in following at all.

So,…

MaqPro Paris

A day in the life of a professional MUA can be filled working on many projects. Some artists work strictly in television, film or print and others, like me are freelance and can pick and choose which projects we want to work on, which goes well with my personality! I get bored easily, so working in television one day, film the next keeps my skills fresh and my mind active!

Last year I was asked to travel to Paris, France in the capacity of a consultant to an up-in-coming cosmetic… Continue

Leave Our Dora Alone!

It was with utter shock that I read that Dora is going to get a makeover this fall. What? Surprised are you? So was I. I read with disgust what that change would entail.
